They defeated El Salvador and Ecuador to maintain their winning streak, while the host nation beat Curaçao in extra innings
(Press Release; Pan American Baseball Confederation) – The Bolivarian Games continued this Monday with victories for Venezuela and Colombia, maintaining their undefeated records, as well as the first win for the host nation, Peru.
Colombia showed no mercy against Ecuador, defeating them 8-1 to remain undefeated in the tournament.
For Colombia, Daniel Vellojín stood out, going 1-for-3 with a run scored and two RBIs, while pinch-hitter Dario Borrero went 1-for-1 with two RBIs.
Meanwhile, Peru needed eleven innings to defeat Curaçao 5-4 and record its first victory of the tournament.
Marco Castellano earned the win with 3.2 innings of relief, striking out two and walking three. Liam Arakaki drove in two runs.
Meanwhile, Venezuela maintained its undefeated record by defeating El Salvador 16-0 in five innings. Ángel Arévalo went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and four RBIs, while César Idrogo went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBIs.
