AJ Gracia has fit right into the Virginia Cavaliers program under first-year head coach Chris Pollard.
In seven games this season, he has a .375 batting average and a 1.418 OPS. Gracia also has four home runs, seven RBIs, and 14 runs scored.
His best game of the year came against the Monmouth Hawks, where he hit three home runs, which resulted in three RBIs.
The Cavaliers have a 6-1 record so far this season.
Gracia with Duke in 2025, 2026 MLB Draft stock
Gracia transferred to Virginia after playing for the Duke Blue Devils during the 2025 college baseball season.
He followed Pollard, who became Virginia’s head coach and replaced Brian O’Connor after coaching Duke for 13 seasons.
In 2025, Gracia had a .293 batting average and a .449 on-base percentage. He also had 15 home runs and 54 RBIs.
Gracia was named second-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) at the outfielder position.
In 2026, Gracia has a lot of stock for the upcoming MLB Draft. He is a top 15 prospect according to MLB Pipeline.
He is a top three prospect in the ACC, sitting behind Georgia Tech’s Drew Burress and Vahn Lackey, who also rank in the top 15.
