Vote Now: Japanese Women’s National Softball Team nominated for The World Games Athlete of the Year award

The Japanese Women’s National Softball Team has been nominated for The World Games Athlete of the Year 2024 award. The world No. 2 won the WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup last year, winning their fourth World Championship title when they defeated USA 6-1 in the final. This marked Japan‘s 13th medal overall. They are also reigning Olympic champions from Tokyo 2020. At The World Games 2022, they won silver.

The International World Games Association (IWGA) announced 22 individual athletes, pairs and teams nominated for The World Games Athlete of the Year 2024.

The voting period for this prestigious award opened on Thursday 9 January 2025, inviting sports fans from around the globe to participate in selecting their favourite athletes.

Voting will remain open until 31 January 2025 at 12:00 GMT, with an exciting halfway elimination round on 22 January 2025 at 12:00 GMT, where only the top 10 ranked candidates will advance.

Votes can be cast on The World Games website. Each voting session must include votes for two candidates: two votes for your first choice and one vote for your second choice. Votes cast for only one candidate will not be counted. Voting is limited to one session every 24 hours per person.
