Wake Forest Standing Tall Atop D1Baseball.com NCAA Rankings As Conference Tourneys Near

D1Baseball.com released the latest top 25 rankings for the 2023 NCAA Division I baseball season on May 14, as the conference tournament slate approaches.

Wake Forest University (42-8) record is No. 1 for the second consecutive week after beating UNC Greensboro last Tuesday 14-4 and sweeping Florida State University on the road in their three-game series.

The University of Arkansas (38-13) overall record moved up from No. 3 to No. 2, taking two out of three games over the University of South Carolina.

Stanford University (34-14) moved up from No. 4 in the nation to No. 3, winning a slugfest over Santa Clara University by the score of 20-17 last Tuesday and winning two out of three games against the University of Arizona last weekend.

The University of Florida (40-12) climbed up three spots in the rankings from No. 7 to No. 4, sweeping Vanderbilt University in their three-games series this past weekend.

Louisiana State University (39-12) fell three spots from the rankings from No. 2 to No. 5, losing to Mississippi State University in two out of three games in their series.

West Virginia University (39-13) surged up six spots from No. 12 to No. 6, beating the University of Pittsburgh on Wednesday 9-8 and winning two out of three games against Texas Tech University on Saturday 17-2 and Sunday 5-3.

Clemson University (35-17) moved up nine spots in the rankings from No. 16 to No. 8, beating Coastal Carolina University on Wednesday 13-6 and sweeping Virginia Tech in their three game series over the weekend.

Oregon State University with their record at 36-15 climbed in to the top ten rankings from No. 15 to No. 10 in the nation beating the University of Portland last Tuesday by the score of 4-2 and winning two games out of their three games series against UCLA last weekend on Saturday 6-4 and Sunday 21-5.

Duke University (34-16) fell six spots from the rankings at No. 10 to No. 16 after beating Rider University on Wednesday and losing two out of three games to Georgia Tech last weekend.

The University of Tennessee (35-17) moved up five spots in the rankings from No. 23 to No. 18, beating Austin Peay University 9-4 last Tuesday and winning two out of three games over the University of Kentucky over the weekend.

The University of Washington and Oklahoma State University are the newly ranked programs this week.
