 Alfred Ezman - World Baseball Network  |    Feb 24th, 2025 6:13pm EST

Here are the updated World Baseball Network top 25 rankings for college baseball as of Feb. 24.

The number next to the team’s name indicates how much they moved from last week’s rankings. A (-) sign indicates no movement and/or a new team into the top 25.

  1. Tennessee Volunteers (-) – Tennessee remains undefeated following a sweep against the Samford Bulldogs over the weekend. The reigning national champions retain their number-one overall ranking.
  2. Florida Gators (+2): Florida has surpassed two other SEC teams by completing a weekend sweep against Dayton. The Gators won all three games by run rule.
  3. Texas A&M Aggies (-1) – Texas A&M dropped the series finale against Cal Poly on Sunday, their first loss of the season. The offense in College Station was in a funk all weekend, and Saturday’s contest with Cal Poly did not go well until Blake Binderup broke the game open.
  4. LSU Tigers (-1) – The LSU Tigers fell victim to an upset against Omaha this weekend on Saturday. A Jackson Trout home run set the Mavericks on course to win the game. It was a good bounce back for head coach Jay Johnson’s crew on Sunday with a 12-1 win. This keeps LSU comfortably in the top five.
  5. Florida State Seminoles (+1) – Head coach Link Jarrett and his Seminoles roll into the top five with a 7-0 record. Texas Tech transfer Gage Harrelson has been a great addition to a lineup that had some big names to replace.
  6. Arkansas Razorbacks (-1) – The Razorbacks did suffer a loss to begin the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series in Arlington against Kansas State. However, they only drop a spot in the rankings after bounce back wins against TCU and Michigan.
  7. North Carolina Tar Heels (+1) – The Tar Heels remain perfect with a series win over the East Carolina Pirates after a great mid-week win over Kansas State. North Carolina will go for the sweep over ECU in Greenville, N.C., on Monday at 5 p.m. EST.
  8. Georgia Bulldogs (+3) – A dominant weekend over the UIC Flames pushes Georgia back into the top ten. The Bulldogs outscored their opponent 51-11 in four games over the weekend at Foley Field. Georgia has also been one of the best power-hitting teams in the country.
  9. Clemson Tigers (+1) – Despite some close games, Clemson did sweep through four games to get to a 6-1 record this season. Dominic Listi continues his excellent start to 2025 with a team-leading 10 hits.
  1. Oregon State Beavers (-3) – Last week, Oregon State had the biggest jump in our rankings from the preseason rankings. However, losses in Round Rock, Texas, Oklahoma, and Minnesota set them back a little. A good win against the Virginia Cavaliers keeps this team in the top ten.
  2. Wake Forest Demon Deacons (+2) – Wake Forest had a dominant weekend against St. John’s with two shutouts on Friday and Saturday. This was a great way to bounce back from a tough mid-week loss to UNC Greensboro. Jack Winnay homered twice in Friday’s win over the Red Storm.
  3. Virginia Cavaliers (-3) – The season has gotten off to a tough start for Virginia. In Round Rock, Texas, this weekend, they suffered losses to Oklahoma and Oregon State and now sit 3-3 this season. College baseball fans are waiting for a rebound as the Wahoo started fifth overall in our rankings this preseason.
  4. Texas Longhorns (+1) – Yes, it was not an explosive weekend for Texas against Dartmouth. However, head coach Jim Schlossnagle’s team did get the job done and swept their IVY League opponent. This kept the Longhorns hot and earned them an extra spot in this week’s rankings.
  5. Vanderbilt Commodores (+1) – Vanderbilt scored in double figures during all three games against St. Mary’s this weekend in a sweep. The offense has begun to click for head coach Tim Corbin’s team. Perhaps Brodie Johnston back in the lineup has helped?
  6. Oregon Ducks (+1) – After a loss on Friday in a shootout against Rhode Island, the Ducks went on to win the series, taking down the Rams in the next three games. Mason Neville had a massive game for Oregon on Saturday, as he had four RBIs and hit two home runs.
  7. Oklahoma State Cowboys (+1) – Head coach Josh Holliday’s team did not play much this week. After a mid-week loss to Texas State in Globe Life Field, they rebounded and scored 19 runs in a win over UT-Arlington. The two teams will play again on Monday, but that’s a pretty good season opener in O’Brate
  8. Mississippi State Bulldogs (-) – There is no movement in the rankings this week for Mississippi State. Despite losing to a tough Southern Miss team, the Bulldogs rebounded with a weekend sweep of Missouri State. Noah Sullivan sticks out on their offense with five hits over the weekend.
  9. Duke Blue Devils (+1) – Duke has found its groove in the last two games, which sealed a series win over Cornell. The team outscored the Big Red 34-3 in those games and returned to above .500.
  10. N.C. State Wolfpack (-7) – Simply put, it was a rough week for the N.C. State Wolfpack. A mid-week loss to Liberty came before getting beaten three times in the Jax College Baseball Classic. This makes them the biggest fallers in this week’s rankings.
  11. UC Santa Barabara Gauchos (-) – It was a good week for one of the best mid-majors in college baseball as they swept through the weekend, beating Seattle, San Diego State, and Cal Baptist. It was a nice rebound for head coach Andrew Checketts team after a mid-week loss to St. Mary’s.
  12. Oklahoma Sooners (-) – Head coach Skip Johnson’s Sooners may take home the “Team of the Weekend” award after their performance in Round Rock, Texas. Oklahoma defeated Oregon State and Virginia, which were both top-ten teams. Kyson Witherspoon also delivered an incredible start against Minnesota to complete a weekend sweep. Thus, the Sooners hop into the top 25.
  13. Dallas Baptist Patriots (-1) – The mid-week game was a rough loss for Dallas Baptist, as UT Rio Grande Valley defeated them 15-5 at Globe Life Field. However, the Pats rebounded with a weekend sweep against SIU Edwardsville, outscoring the Cougars 35-5.
  14. Alabama Crimson Tide (-) – It was a phenomenal weekend for the Alabama Crimson Tide in the Jax College Baseball Classic. They swept through the weekend and made an unbelievable comeback to beat Ohio State to cap off a big statement made to the college baseball world. They are another new addition to the top 25.
  15. Kentucky Wildcats (+1) – Kentucky completed a road sweep in Nashville against Belmont to move to 4-1 on the season. They shut out the Bruins on Saturday and got home runs from Tyler Bell and Devin Burkes.
  16. Coastal Carolina Chanticleers (-2) – The Chanticleers were in Jacksonville, Fla., for the Jax College Baseball Classic. Overall, they put together a good weekend, going 2-1. They did have an ugly first game against Alabama, as they allowed 12 walks in a 9-2 loss. This pushed their ranking back a However, wins over N.C. State and Ohio State keep them in the top 25.

Dropped from the Rankings: Michigan and TCU
