 Alfred Ezman - World Baseball Network  |    Apr 14th, 2025 3:05pm EDT

Here is the college baseball top 25 for World Baseball Network as of April 14.

The number next to the team’s name indicates how much they moved from last week’s rankings. A (-) sign indicates no movement and/or a new team into the top 25.

1.Texas Longhorns (29-5, 13-2 SEC, +1 from last week) – Texas takes over for Arkansas as the No. 1 team in the country. After a series win over Kentucky, the Longhorns are 13-2 in SEC play during their first season in the conference.

2. Clemson Tigers (33-6, 11-4 ACC, +1 from last week) – Clemson got a series win at home against Stanford and remain a top the ACC standings along with Georgia Tech and Florida State. The Tigers have won every ACC series in conference play so far.

3. Tennessee Volunteers (31-5, 11-4 SEC, +2 from last week) – Tennessee needed a bounce back series win. They got that as they won two out of three games against the Ole Miss Rebels in Oxford. Liam Doyle had an excellent Friday night for the Volunteers with a 14-strikeout performance.

4. Georgia Bulldogs (32-6, 10-5 SEC, +2 from last week) – Georgia took down Arkansas, the number one team in the country, at home in Foley Field this weekend. That is quite the rebound from a series loss at Texas the weekend before.

5. Arkansas Razorbacks (32-5, 12-3 SEC, -4 from last week) – Arkansas lost their series to Georgia over the weekend which drops them from the number one spot. As one of the most complete teams in college baseball, they remain in the top five.

6. North Carolina Tar Heels (28-8, 11-7 ACC, +1 from last week) – The North Carolina Tar Heels had one of the more impressive weekends in college baseball as they swept Wake Forest. At home in Boshamer Stadium, North Carolina is 20-5 this season.

7. Oregon State Beavers (26-7, +1 from last week) – Oregon State is starting to find a groove after sweeping Cal State Fullerton over the weekend. The Beavers have now won six games in a row and have a legitimate case to be a national seed as of today.

8. Florida State Seminoles (28-7, 11-4 ACC, +2 from last week) – Florida State rebounded from last weekend with a series sweep of Virginia Tech on the road. This was a big way to rack up ACC wins by the Seminoles as they have big series against Virginia and Louisville on the horizon.

9. Oregon Ducks (24-10, 12-6 Big Ten, (-) from last week) – The Oregon Ducks stay put at number nine in the country this week. They won two out of three games on the road against the Maryland Terrapins. The Ducks have a big series lined up this next weekend against UCLA.

10. LSU Tigers (31-6, 10-5 SEC, -6 from last week) – The LSU Tigers took a big drop after being swept by the Auburn Tigers. It was an uncharacteristic weekend for LSU’s offense as they only scored eight runs all weekend.

11. TCU Horned Frogs (28-9, 11-4 Big 12, +4 from last week) – Texas Christian swept the Kansas Jayhawks to take over the first place spot in the Big 12. The Horned Frogs are now 8-1 in their last nine Big 12 games.

12. N.C. State Wolfpack (24-12, 9-6 ACC, (-) from last week) – North Carolina State stays put at 12th in the country after winning their series against Louisville. Despite allowing 25 runs in the one game they lost, the Wolfpack scored a combined 24 runs in the two wins they had over the weekend.

13. Ole Miss Rebels (27-9, 9-6 SEC, -2 from last week) – The Ole Miss Rebels lost two out of three games to Tennessee over the weekend. Head coach Mike Bianco’s team lost by only three runs in the two losses combined. Thus, Ole Miss only drops a couple of spots.

14. Troy Trojans (26-11, 10-5 Sun Belt, (-) from last week) – After playing a tight game with Virginia Tech in the midweek slate, the Troy Trojans defeated the James Madison Dukes in their midweek series. This puts them in the same spot as last week, firmly in the top 15.

15. UCLA Bruins (28-7, 12-3 Big Ten, +1 from last week) – The University of California-Los Angeles had another successful weekend after beating the Washington Huskies in two out of three games. The Bruins are trending in the right direction fast as they rank first in the Big 10.

16. Auburn Tigers (26-10, 9-6 SEC, +8 from last week) – Auburn may be the team of the weekend with a series sweep over LSU at home in Plainsman Park. The Auburn pitching was the big standout as it completely shut down LSU’s offensive attack. Head coach Butch Thompson’s team also added a great midweek win over Georgia Tech over the weekend.

17. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (29-7, 14-4 ACC, +2 from last week) – Georgia Tech swept the California Golden Bears over the weekend. They now have swept back-to-back opponents in ACC play and are at the top of the conference with the likes of Clemson and Florida State.

18. Vanderbilt Commodores (26-10, 8-7 SEC, -5 from last week) – A rough weekend in Norman, Okla. was salvaged on Sunday by Vanderbilt as they won 13-2 in eight innings. This kept them above .500 in SEC play. However, the Commodores will host the Georgia Bulldogs this weekend in Nashville in what will be a tough bounce back series.

19. UC Irvine Anteaters (25-8, 13-2 Big West, +1 from last week) – The University of California-Irvine had a successful weekend as they defeated UC Davis in their weekend series away from home. The anteaters remain firmly in second place in the Big West behind red-hot Cal Poly.

20. Oklahoma Sooners (25-10, 7-7 SEC, +1 from last week) – Oklahoma had their best weekend of SEC play as they defeated Vanderbilt in two out of three games over the weekend. This got the Sooners to .500 in conference play. With Missouri up next on the schedule, head coach Skip Johnson’s team has a big chance to get in the right direction.

21. Arizona Wildcats (25-10, 10-5 Big 12, +1 from last week) – Arizona got a series win over Oklahoma State at home in Tuscon over the weekend. The Wildcats allowed just nine runs to a team full of power hitters.

22. Coastal Carolina Chanticleers (27-9, 11-4, +1 from last week) – The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers had an unbeaten week. They beat UNC Wilmington in a midweek game and then swept Georgia State on the road in Decatur. Coastal Carolina is now in first place in the Sun Belt.

23. Alabama Crimson Tide (29-8, 8-7 SEC, -6 from last week) – Alabama is starting to slip in SEC play. The Crimson Tide’s series loss to Mississippi State over the weekend is the second series loss in a row. Alabama scored nine runs over the weekend which is a shell of what this offense is capable of.

24. Dallas Baptist Patriots (24-11, 8-4 C-USA, (-) from last week) – Dallas Baptist pops back into the top 25 after sweeping Jacksonville State over the weekend. The Patriots outscored the Gamecocks 25-6 in all three games.

25. UC Santa Barbara Gauchos (24-10, 10-8 Big West (-) from last week) – The University of California-Santa Barbara Gauchos have found their groove again as they reappear in the top 25. They swept UC Riverside over the weekend and are 6-1 in their last seven games.

Teams that dropped out of rankings – Wake Forest, Louisville

Matchups to watch this week in college baseball (April 14-20)

Georgia Bulldogs v. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (April 15) – This rivalry midweek matchup will take place at Truist Park, normally home of the Atlanta Braves. Both Georgia and Georgia Tech have potent offenses that should lead to a big-time shootout.

Auburn Tigers v. Texas Longhorns (April 17-19) – After a thrilling sweep of LSU, Auburn heads to Austin to play the number one team in the country in Texas. This matchup has become a circled one after it may not have been in the preseason.

Hawaii Rainbow Warriors v. UC Irvine Anteaters (Apr. 17-19) – This matchup in Irvine, Calif. Is possibly the biggest meeting between mid-major teams this weekend. Both teams sit at the top of the Big West conference.
