The World Baseball Softball Confederation Americas announced that Estadio Monumental Simon Bolivar in Caracas, Venezuela, would be a host venue for the 2025 Copa America.

Estadio Monumental joins Panama’s Estadio Mariano Rivera as a host venue for the event, which will be played Nov. 13-22, 2025, and feature the 12 highest ranked teams in the WBSC’s World Baseball Ranking playing in two groups of six, with one group playing in Caracas and the other in La Chorrera, Panama. Three teams from each group will advance to the Super Round, the venue for which has yet to be announced.

Mexico had previously been announced as a host nation for the Copa America, with El Nido de Las Aguilas in Mexicali, Baja California, having been listed on the WBSC Americas website for the Copa America as a host venue until Wednesday, and the same site still has a post stating that the event will be hosted by Mexico and Panama.

The WBSC Americas had previously announced that Group A would play at Estadio Mariano Rivera in Panama and would feature the host country, along with Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Brazil, and Curaçao, while Group B would play in Mexico, and would feature Mexico along with the United States, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Nicaragua, and Canada. With Venezuela now hosting group play, it’s likely that the groups will be changed so that Venezuela would play in Caracas.

According to the WBSC’s press release announcing the tournament’s partial move to Caracas, more details regarding the tournament will be revealed at a press conference at Estadio Monumental. The 40,000-seat venue in the La Rinconada district of Caracas previously hosted the 2023 Caribbean Series and is the home of the Leones del Caracas of the Liga Venezolana de Beisbol Profesional. It will again be a host venue for the Caribbean Series in February 2026.

The WBSC Americas has said that it expects the Copa America to also be a qualifying event for the XX Pan American Games, which will be held in Lima, Peru, in 2027.
