With the end of January upon us, the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Americas has held meetings to discuss planning events for upcoming international tournaments for the 2025 calendar.
One event that is being discussed currently is a handful of Pan-American Pre-World Cup tournaments, which will serve as qualifiers for future World Cups in respective categories.
Beginning in July and August 2025, World Cup qualifiers for the U15 category will be prepared. The adult women’s cup, Baseball5, and U23, which are still working on confirming venues, are also being worked on.
But, one event that is being prepared, along with all of the World Cup, is the Copa América de Beisbol, which is set for closer to the end of 2025. The Copa America de Beisbol aims to distribute places for the Central American and Caribbean Games and the Pan American Games, which will be key competitions within the programming of the Olympic cycle.
The Executive Committee of WBSC Americas and subconfederations will continue to meet. They hope to continue the path of each national team as they prepare for the upcoming 2026 World Baseball Classic.
