The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) announced the latest update of the Women’s Softball World Rankings. The Netherlands reached the top five for the first time in its program’s history.
The update for the rankings includes three groups from the WBSC U-18 Women’s Softball World Cup, the European Championship, and the U-15 European Championship, plus a few international friendly games. These games allowed most European nations to climb the rankings.
The top four remained the same. The USA maintained the top spot, followed by Japan in second, Puerto Rico in third, and Chinese Taipei in fourth.
The Netherlands replaces Canada for the number five spot in the rankings. Since April 2023, they’ve moved from tenth to fifth, signifying their first appearance in the top five.
As the end of the year nears, the fight begins for one of six spots at The World Games Chengdu 2025. The top six teams in the WBSC Women’s Softball World Rankings, as of December 31, 2024, will secure their spot in the tournament.
The WBSC Ranking includes all tournaments within the past four years.
