WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup 2025 – By the Numbers

The Chinese Taipei Baseball Association (CTBA) will host the WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup 2025 presented by RAXUS from July 25 to August 3 in Tainan. We want to take a look at some intriguing numbers to help baseball fans worldwide get familiar with the eighth edition of an event which is unique in international sport. No other International Federation runs a World Cup for players 12 and under.

1 – The WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup has had only one host. CTBA has hosted all the editions since since the tournament first started in 2011.

2 – Only two programmes have claimed the title of U-12 Baseball World Champion: USA (five times) and Chinese Taipei (two). Chinese Taipei have also won four silver medals.

3 – Cuba, Venezuela and Japan have also won a silver medal.

4 – This will be the fourth edition of the U-12 Baseball World Cup that Tainan hosts at the Asia Pacific International Baseball Stadium.

4 – Four programmes have participated in all editions: Japan, Korea, Chinese Taipei and Mexico.

5 – All the five Olympic contiments are represented in the U-12 Baseball World Cup 2025.

6 – In the U-12 Baseball World Cup each game is six innings.

8 – This will be the eighth edition of the U-12 Baseball World Cup.

10 – Ten of the 12 participants are returning from the 2023 edition: Australia, Czechia, Dominican Republic, Germany, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Panama, Chinese Taipei, USA.

11 – Number of Taiwan Hall of Fame inductees born in Tainan.

12 – Number of teams participating in the U-12 Baseball World Cup.

18 – Each team will have a roster of 18 players.

130 – Tainan City spent US$130 Million to build the Asia Pacific Baseball Stadium and Training Centre.

240 – Number of Chinese Professional Baseball League draftees Tainan has nurtured through the years.

1624 – The year when Tainan was founded under the Dutch Fort Zeelandia.

1931 – The year when Tainan inaugurated it’s first baseball stadium.

2019 – The year when the Asia Pacific International Baseball Stadium (ASPAC) opened.

8500 – The number of fans the ASPAC main stadium can accommodate. Since 2019, every World Championship Final has been sold out.

1,857,000 – The population of Tainan’s Special Municipality.
