WBSC U-15 Women’s Softball World Cup 2025 – By the Numbers

The WBSC U-15 Women’s Softball World Cup 2025 opens in the Lombardy Region, Italy, on Friday, June 27. We want to use some key numbers to introduce softball fans to the tournament.

1 – 2025 marks the first time Italy hosts a Youth WBSC World Cup in softball or baseball.

2 – The WBSC U-15 Women’s Softball World Cup has two host cities: Caronno Pertusella and Legnano.

3 – The top three finishers of each group will advance to the Super Round.

4 – Four of the five Olympic continents are represented in the WBSC U-15 Women’s Softball World Cup: Americas, Asia, Europe and Oceania.

5 – Five nations participate in the WBSC U-15 Women’s Softball World Cup for the first time: American Samoa, Australia, Canada, Singapore and Spain.

6 – As per the standard WBSC World Cup format, each group will consist of six teams.

7 – The Trophy Tour reached seven cities in the Lombardy Region: Garlasco, Rho, Rescaldina, Brescia, Legnano, Caronno Pertusella and the region’s capital, Milan.

8 – The tournament has eight competition days and one rest day.

8 – On June 28, 29 and 30 the WBSC U-15 Women’s Softball World Cup will schedule eight games.

12 – Twelve teams participate in the tournament, which has a traditional WBSC World Cup format.

17 – The distance between the Francesco Nespoli Stadium in Caronno Pertusella and the Peppino Colombo Sports Centre in Legnano is 17 kilometres (10.6 miles).

23 – Caronno Pertusella is part of the Varese Province but Milan is just 23 kilometres (14.3 miles) away.

50 – The WBSC U-15 Women’s Softball World Championship Final, scheduled for Saturday, July 5, will be the 50th game of the tournament.

68 – The fields in Caronno Pertusella and Legnano measure 68 metres (223 feet) in centre field.

1,176 – The Battle of Legnano stopped the Holy Roman Empire’s expansion in Northern Italy on May 20, 1176.

16,979 -.American Samoa will fly 16,979 kilometres (10,550 miles) to reach Italy and compete in a WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup for the first time.
