SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (August 24, 2025) – Following their unforgettable run to the championship title at the 2025 Little League Softball World Series, the West Suburban Little League team from Johnstown, Pennsylvania, was welcomed to Williamsport to celebrate their achievements on Championship Sunday at the 2025 Little League Baseball World Series, Presented by T-Mobile.

“As we continue to focus and invest in our softball program, we are incredibly proud of the experience our 12 teams had down in Greenville this summer at the Little League Softball World Series, and we are excited to recognize this year’s champions here in Williamsport,” said Pat Wilson, Little League President and CEO. “The players, coaches, volunteers, and fans of the West Suburban Little League team fully exemplified the values of our organization and showcased what the World Series experience is all about. We hope they enjoy their time with us here in the birthplace of Little League and know that they will be an inspiration for the next generation of Girls with Game.”

Representing the Mid-Atlantic Region, West Suburban capped off an undefeated 5-0 run in Greenville with a victory over the Central Region champions, Floyds Knobs (Ind.) Community Club Little League, in the title game. The win made them just the second Pennsylvania team in history to claim the Little League Softball World Series crown, joining Shippensburg Little League, which won in 1978.

The championship game captivated audiences across the country, averaging 1.44 million viewers and peaking at 2.98 million on ABC—an increase of 139% over last year’s final—making it the most-watched Little League Softball game ever. Across the entire 2025 LLSWS, television viewership averaged 347,000 (up 66% year-over-year), while more than 18,000 fans attended games in Greenville, the second-highest attendance since the event’s relocation in 2021.

The 2025 tournament also featured:

  • 10 Shoutout Games

  • Nine one-run contests

  • Seven come-from-behind victories

  • Three walk-off wins

  • Two out-of-the-park home runs

  • Approximately 300 volunteers helping make the experience possible

In addition to their on-field success, the champions and the other 11 participating teams enjoyed special events throughout their time in Greenville, including the Girls with Game Celebration, media day, and new gear and uniforms provided by Little League’s Official Sponsors.

As part of their recognition in Williamsport, the West Suburban team took the field ahead of the LLBWS Championship Game on Sunday, August 24, and participated in a ceremonial first pitch.

Since the launch of the Girls with Game initiative in 2019, Little League has seen steady growth in softball participation, with nearly 25% more chartered teams nationwide.
