What Tim Corbin and Dave Van Horn Said Ahead of the 2026 Shriners Children’s College Showdown

The 2026 Shriners Children’s College Showdown is February 13-15 at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.

The event features six teams including the Texas Tech Red Raiders, Oklahoma State Cowboys, TCU Horned Frogs, Vanderbilt Commodores, Arkansas Razorbacks, and Oklahoma Sooners.

World Baseball Network takes a look at some comments from Vanderbilt head coach Tim Corbin and Arkansas head coach Dave Van Horn prior to the event.

Tim Corbin on Turning the Page into 2026

Heading into the 2025 NCAA Tournament, the Vanderbilt Commodores won the SEC Tournament and were the number one overall national seed.

However, in upset fashion, Vanderbilt was bounced from the Nashville regional and their season came to an abrupt end.

Corbin talked about how his team is looking to turn the page into the Shriners Children’s College Showdown for the 2026 season.

“Year-to-year separation is important,” the Vanderbilt head coach said. “What happened last year happened last year. It does not have a bearing on us moving forward. It is about the group we have right now.”

The Commodores will begin the 2026 Shriners Children’s College Showdown facing off against the TCU Horned Frogs on February 13 at 4 p.m. EST.

Dave Van Horn Talks About Arkansas and Their Fan Presence in Arlington

The Arkansas Razorbacks have been no strangers to playing games in Arlington. According to Whole Hog Sports, it is the fifth time the Razorbacks have played there in the past six seasons.

Van Horn talked about his team’s experience playing at the home of the Texas Rangers.

“It has been great every single time,” the Arkansas head coach said. “It is a great part of the country for our fanbase. The field is also always in great shape.”

Van Horn talked about how playing in Arlington has a “College World Series” feel to it.

“It reminds you of being in Omaha in a way,” he added. “There are always people moving around the ballpark. Everywhere I go now, our fans tell me they are coming to Arlington.”

The Arkansas Razorbacks will begin the 2026 Shriners Children’s College Showdown facing off against the Oklahoma State Cowboys on February 13 at 8 p.m. EST.
