Cardenales de Lara (7-5) 11, Aguilas del Zulia (6-6) 3 – Ali Sanchez clubbed a two-run homer in the top of the second, and four batters later, Danry Vasquez ripped a bases-loaded double that scored three, giving the Cardenales a 5-0 lead. From there, Lara easily rolled to its seventh win of the round robin, with Sanchez going 5-for-5 with three runs scored and Luisangel Acuna going 3-for-5 with three runs scored of his own. The win puts the Cardenales one game behind first-place Anzoategui with four games to play.
Navegantes del Magallanes (6-6) 7, Bravos de Margarita (3-7) 5 – Renato Nunez tied the game for Magallanes at four in the top of the eighth, but the Bravos grabbed a one-run lead in the ninth on an RBI single by Carlos Perez. In the ninth, the Navegantes tied the game on an RBI double from Luis Sardinas and then pulled ahead on Wilfredo Tovar’s two-run double to get back to .500 for the round robin, where they’re two games behind the Caribes de Anzoategui. The Margarita loss combined with the Cardenales win means that the Bravos have been eliminated from contention for a berth in the LVBP final.
