Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacifico
Algodoneros de Guasave 6, Jaguares de Nayarit 4 – RBI singles in the eighth from Orlando Pina and Victor Labrada and an RBI double from Emmanuel Labrada gave Guasave a 5-1 lead, and they’d add another in the top of the ninth on a sac fly by Francisco Pena. The Algodoneros then survived a three-run, bottom of the ninth rally by the Jaguares capped by a two-run homer by Aristedes Aquino to take a 2-0 series lead.

Aguilas de Mexicali 10, Yaquis de Obregon 8 (13 Innings) – After trading runs with Obregon in the 12th, the Aguilas scored two in the top of the 13th, the first on an RBI single by Moises Gutierrez and the second on a sac fly by Marco Jaime, and then held off the Yaquis in the bottom of the inning to take a two-games-to-none series lead. Aguilas catcher Alexis Wilson, who joined the club as a reinforcement after spending the regular season with the Tucson Baseball Team, hit a grand slam in the eighth, but the game went to extras after Mexicali closer Jake Sanchez, the LAMP’s all-time saves leader, coughed up the four-run lead Wilson handed him in the bottom of the ninth, allowing two-run homers to Ramiro Pena and Victor Mendoza.

Naranjeros de Hermosillo 12, Charros de Jalisco 0 – Andretty Cordero went 2-for-5 with four RBIs, hitting a two-run single in the first, a two-run double in the second, Milan Tolentino hit a three-run homer, and Isaac Paredes hit a two-run homer as the Naranjeros easily tied the series with Jalisco. Hermosillo starter Omar Cruz allowed four runs over five scoreless innings, walking none and striking out four.
Caneros de Los Mochis 4, Tomateros de Culiacan 3 – A two-run single by Rodolfo Amador and another RBI single by Mario Gomez, both in the sixth, got the Caneros past Culiacan and tied the series at one game apiece. Yurisbel Gracial contributed the other run for Los Mochis with a solo homer in the first. Luis Verdugo drove in two runs with a double in the bottom of the fourth.
LIDOM
Leones del Escogido (5-0) 10, Toros del Este (3-2) 5 – Socrates Brito went 4-for-5, scored twice and drove in three runs, two of them with a two-run homer in the eighth, and Yamaico Navarro and Jose Marmolejos each drove in two runs as Escogido romped to a 5-0 record in the round robin. Four Leones had multi-hit games, and the Escogido bullpen allowed just three hits and a run over the final five innings.
Aguilas Cibaenas (2-3) 8, Gigantes del Cibao (0-5) 7 (10 Innings) – The Gigantes took the lead in the top of the 10th on Ismael Munguia’s RBI single that scored Ezequiel Duran, but the Aguilas scored two in the bottom of the inning, getting an RBI single from Alfredo Reyes to tie the game and another by Julio Rodriguez scored Reyes with the game-winner, leaving the Gigantes winless through five games of the round robin.

LBPRC
Criollos de Caguas 2, Cangrejeros de Santurce 1 – Vimael Machin drove in Nelson Velasquez with a double in the first, and Jose Miranda’s single scored Machin for a 2-0 lead for Caguas, which held up over nine innings to give the Criollos a 1-0 series lead. Starter Dereck Rodriguez threw 5 1/3 innings, allowing a run on three hits, walking one and striking out one for Caguas. Ruben Castro’s single in the sixth scored Johneshwy Fargas for Santurce’s lone run.
Gigantes de Carolina 6, Leones de Ponce 0 – Gabriel Cancel went 3-for-3 with an RBI double and Yariel Gonzalez drove in two runs with a double of his own in the sixth as the Gigantes had no trouble with the Leones in Game 1. Starter Matt Givin threw five scoreless innings for Carolina, allowing two hits and two walks while recording six strikeouts.
LVBP
Cardenales de Lara 6, Caribes de Anzoategui 5 (10 Innings) – Yohendrick Pinango’s solo homer in the bottom of the 10th gave the defending LVBP champs the win in the first game of the five-team, 16-game round robin in the Liga Venezolana de Beisbol Profesional. Willans Astudillo and Rafael Ortega each drove in two runs for Lara in the win. Hernan Perez and Aldrem Corredor each homered for Anzoategui in the loss.
Aguilas del Zulia 4, Navegantes de Magallanes 3 – Jackson Chourio and Jose Pirela each hit solo homers in the top of the 10th and Zulia held on despite an RBI single by Luis Suisbel in the bottom of the inning to take their first win of the round robin. Zac Grotz allowed four hits over six scoreless innings, walking one and striking out four for Zulia.
