Tuesday’s Winter Ball Playoff Results

Toros del Este (12-6) 8, Aguilas Cibaenas (10-8) 7 (10 Innings) – Sergio Alcantara singled home Ismael Alcantara in the bottom of the 10th to tie the game, and a two-out, bases-loaded walk to Jeimer Candelario pushed Bryan De La Cruz across the plate with the winning run, sending the Toros to the LIDOM final with a win in the replay of Friday’s annulled game. Sergio Alcantara went 2-for-5 with a pair of RBIs, including an RBI single in the seventh, and Onix Vega hit a two-run homer to get the Toros on the board in the second. Joe Corbett struck out three, throwing the final two innings for the Toros to earn his first win of the postseason. Jerar Encarnacion and Cristhian Adames each had a pair of RBIs in the loss for the Aguilas.

Caribes de Anzoategui (8-4) 5, Bravos de Margarita (3-8) 4 (14 Innings) – Francisco Arcia singled in the bottom of the eighth to score Ramon Flores and tie the game for Margarita, but that was the last run the Bravos would score. Six innings later, Aldrem Corredor singled home Antonio Pinero in the bottom of the 14th to give the Caribes their eighth win in the 16-game round robin. Corredor went 2-for-5 with two RBIs and two walks for Anzoategui, and Carlos Mendoza hit a solo homer. Arcia went 3-for-5 with a run scored, two walks, and two RBIs in the loss for Margarita.
Navegantes del Magallanes (5-6) 3, Cardenales de Lara (6-5) 2 – Angel Reyes drove in two runs with a single in the top of the eighth to put the Navegantes ahead for good, with Raffi Vizcaino, Felix Cepeda, and Felipe Vasquez combining to hold the Cardenales hitless over the final four innings. Tucupita Marcano drove in the Navegantes’ first run with a sac fly in the top of the fifth. Ildemaro Vargas hti a two-run single in the bottom of the sixth to plate both of the Cardenales’ runs.
