Toros del Este (8-3) 3, Leones del Escogido (10-4) 1 – Onix Vega drove in the Toros’ first run with a two-out single in the second inning, and Rafael Lantigua followed with a sharp groundball to short that was misplayed by Leones shortstop Erik Gonzalez, allowing Eric Filia and Vega to score for a 3-0 lead. Maine native Justin Courtney threw five scoreless innings for the the Toros, allowing three hits and no walks, striking out five, and five relievers combined to keep the lead, with Joe Corbett earning his fourth save of the playoffs for pitching the ninth. Michael De La Cruz’ seventh-inning sac fly brought home the Leones’ only run.
Aguilas Cibaenas (8-6) 4, Gigantes del Cibao (2-12) 3 (11 Innings) – Ezequiel Duran drove in Cristhian Adames in the bottom of the 11th to secure the eighth win of the playoffs for the Aguilas. Adames had tied the game at three apiece in the eighth with an RBI single that scored Fernando Peguero. Steward Berroa scored the Aguilas’ first run, stealing third and then scoring on a throwing error by Cibao backstop David Banuelos in the first. Jose Siri and Kelvin Gutierrez each hit solo homers for the Gigantes.

Bravos de Margarita (2-4) 7, Aguilas del Zulia (4-2) 5 – A three-run seventh got Henry Blanco and the Bravos their second win of the 16-game round robin. Ramon Flores scooted home on Breyvic Valera’s ground out to first, Francisco Arcia scored on an error, and Gorkys Hernandez singled home Jose Martinez to put Margarita up 7-2 in the seventh. Andres Chapparo homered for Zulia in the bottom of the seventh to make it 7-4.
Caribes de Anzoategui (5-2) 9, Cardenales de Lara (4-2) 8 – Balbino Fuenmayor hit a three-run homer in the second to give the Caribes a 6-0 lead, but the Cardenales came all the way back to tie the game at eight before Antonio Pinero’s solo homer in the seven put Anzoategui ahead for good. Fuenmayor went 4-for-5 with four RBIs, adding an RBI single in the sixth.
