 Leif Skodnick - World Baseball Network  |    May 12th, 2025 3:00pm EDT

Here are the updated college baseball top 25 rankings from World Baseball Network as of May 12.

The number next to the team’s name indicates how much they moved from last week’s rankings. A (-) sign indicates no movement and/or a new team into the top 25.

1. Oregon Ducks (38-13, 19-8 Big Ten, (-) from last week) – The Oregon Ducks maintain their number one spot in the top 25 after sweeping the Washington Huskies at home. Head coach Mark Wasikowski’s team has now won seven games in a row.

2. Florida State Seminoles (36-11, 16-8 ACC, +3 from last week) – Florida State went out west for the weekend and defeated the California Golden Bears in a weekend series. The Seminoles rebounded well after a loss in the middle game of the series as they held Cal to just one run in the series finale.

3. LSU Tigers (40-12, 17-10 SEC, +4 from last week) – The LSU Tigers won their series against a red-hot Arkansas team at Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge. This included a 13-3 win that was ended by the mercy rule in the middle game of the series.

4. North Carolina Tar Heels (37-11, 16-10 ACC, -2 from last week) – The Tar Heels have not played a lot of games recently. Their weekend was cut short when Sunday’s game against N.C. State was cancelled. They split the series with the Wolfpack, but even with exceptional weekends from other teams, they remain in the top five.

5. Oregon State Beavers (37-12-1, +3 from last week) – The Beavers won their series over Iowa, one of the best teams in the Big Ten. The final game ended in a tie after 10 innings due to Oregon State’s travel curfew.

6. Georgia Bulldogs (40-13, 16-11 SEC, -3 from last week) – Georgia went on the road and lost their season series to the Alabama Crimson Tide. After 19 runs in their first game, which was a win, Georgia was not as explosive on offense in the doubleheader they played on Sunday.

7. Arkansas Razorbacks (41-11, 18-9 SEC, -3 from last week) – After taking the college baseball world by storm and sweeping Texas, the Razorbacks lost their series against LSU this weekend. They were able to salvage the final game of the series, winning 7-4.

8. Texas Longhorns (40-10, 20-7 SEC, -2 from last week) – Texas lost their second straight series against the Florida Gators this past weekend. The offense fell off for head coach Jim Schlossnagle’s team during their two losses as the Longhorns had three runs in those two games combined.

9. Coastal Carolina Chanticleers (41-11, 23-4 Sun Belt, +4 from last week) – Coastal Carolina swept Louisiana-Monroe over the weekend and is now in the top 10. The Chanticleers have also won 11 games in a row.

10. Vanderbilt Commodores (36-16, 16-11 SEC, +4 from last week) – Vanderbilt came up big with a series win in Knoxville this weekend. The Commodores were able to bounce back from a Friday night loss and win the next two games.

11. N.C. State Wolfpack (32-16, 16-9 ACC, -2 from last week) – N.C. State’s weekend was cut short after their game Sunday against North Carolina was cancelled. They were able to win one of the two games against the Tar Heels, but fell out of the top 10 because of other teams’ performances.

12. Troy Trojans (37-16, 18-9 Sun Belt, (-) from last week) – Troy remains in the same spot after a series win over the Arkansas State Red Wolves. It was a tight series as all three games were decided by one run.

13. Auburn Tigers (36-15, 16-11 SEC, +3 from last week) – Auburn has put itself in a comfortable position with four straight SEC wins, which includes this past weekend’s sweep of the South Carolina Gamecocks.

14. UC Irvine Anteaters (38-11, 23-4 Big West, +1 from last week) – UC Irvine moves up one spot after a very productive week. The defeated Cal Baptist in a midweek matchup and then swept Cal State Bakersfield. The Anteaters are riding a five-game win streak.

15. Clemson Tigers (38-15, 15-12 ACC, -5 from last week) – A series loss this weekend at home against Duke has officially made this a rough patch in the season for Clemson. They have lost three-straight series in ACC play.

16. Dallas Baptist Patriots (36-13, 19-5 C-USA, +2 from last week) – Dallas Baptist has now swept back-to-back C-USA opponents after they won all three games against Kennesaw State this weekend. The Patriots are on a seven-game winning streak.

17. Tennessee Volunteers (39-13, 15-12 SEC, -6 from last week) – Tennessee just has not been able to win an SEC series recently. This weekend, they suffered their fourth straight series loss against Vanderbilt. Tennessee is now at risk of falling to .500 in SEC play.

18. TCU Horned Frogs (35-16, 17-10 Big 12, +1 from last week) – TCU got a series win over the Cincinnati Bearcats. The offense was plentiful for the Horned Frogs as they pieced together 32 runs over the three games combined.

19. UCLA Bruins (37-14, 20-7 Big Ten, +3 from last week) – UCLA swept the Illinois Fighting Illini this weekend on the road at Urbana-Champaign. With the series sweep, the Bruins officially got 20 wins in Big Ten play in their first season.

20. Florida Gators (35-18, 13-14 SEC, +5 from last week) – Florida is looking like a red-hot baseball team as college baseball is entering its final weekend. This past weekend, the Gators won two out of three against the Texas Longhorns on the road in Austin.

21. Oklahoma Sooners (32-17, 13-14 SEC, -4 from last week) – The Oklahoma Sooners got swept against the Kentucky Wildcats this weekend on the road in Lexington. A lack of offense hurt head coach Skip Johnson’s team as they could not score no more than five runs in any of the games they played.

22. Southern Miss Golden Eagles (38-13, 21-6 Sun Belt, +2 from last week) – Southern Miss has now won 12 games in a row following a sweep of Louisiana this weekend. The Golden Eagles also reached 21 wins in Sun Belt play and have 25 wins at Pete Taylor Park this season.

23. Ole Miss Rebels (34-17, 14-13 SEC, -3 from last week) – Ole Miss lost their rivalry series against Mississippi State on the road at Dudy Noble Field in Starkville this weekend. That is now back-to-back series losses for Ole Miss, as they have hit the skids in May.

24. Duke Blue Devils (35-16, 16-11 ACC, (-) from last week) – Duke is back in the top 25 after they defeated the Clemson Tigers in a series at Doug Kingsmore Stadium. Duke has now won seven of their last nine games.

25. West Virginia Mountaineers (40-10, 19-6 Big 12, -4 from last week) – West Virginia dropped their weekend series against the Kansas State Wildcats. They also lost a midweek rivalry game against the Pittsburgh Panthers.

Top Matchups in College Baseball This Week (May 12-18)

Northeastern Huskies v. UConn Huskies (May 13) – Northeastern has been a top-notch mid-major in college baseball this season. They will travel to play a talented UConn team that is 17-4 in Big East play this season.

UNC Wilmington Seahawks v. North Carolina Tar Heels (May 13) – North Carolina is facing off against one of the better mid-major teams in their state. UNC Wilmington was a team that defeated Georgia at the beginning of the season and can make this game against the Tar Heels interesting.
