ST. LOUIS (AP) — Justin Wrobleski tossed six scoreless innings to help the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the St. Louis Cardinals 4-1 on Sunday to snap a four-game losing streak.
Wrobleski (5-0) allowed six hits and a walk. Tanner Scott pitched a scoreless ninth for his second save of the season.
Dustin May (3-3) allowed three runs on seven hits in six innings in his first career start against the Dodgers since they traded him to Boston on July 31, 2025.
St. Louis had won six straight heading into Sunday’s contest.
Shohei Ohtani went 0 for 3 with a walk and was hit by a pitch from Justin Bruihl in the seventh inning. He is 0 for 14 over his last four games, his longest hitless streak since going five straight games without a hit as a member of the Los Angeles Angels from May 24-28, 2022.
Alec Burleson lined a single up the middle off Will Klein in the eighth inning to drive in Jordan Walker for his team-leading 28th RBI.
Freddie Freeman stroked a two-out RBI single up the middle in the fifth inning to put the Dodgers ahead 3-0.
Andy Pages hit an RBI double to left field, and Hyeseong Kim followed with an RBI single to right field in the second inning to give the Dodgers a 2-0 lead.
PIRATES 1, REDS 0
PITTSBURGH (AP) — Oneil Cruz hit a tie-breaking single in the bottom of the eighth inning and Pittsburgh completed a sweep of Cincinnati.
Pirates rookie shortstop Konnor Griffin doubled off the centerfield wall against Reds reliever Tony Santillan (1-1) with two outs in the eighth. Pinch hitter Jake Mangum worked a full count walk and Cruz followed by lacing a single to center. Griffin beat TJ Friedl’s throw home with ease as Pittsburgh responded to by taking three straight from the Reds.
Gregory Soto (3-0) got the last four outs after taking over following a brilliant performance by starter Braxton Ashcraft.
A day after seven pitchers combined to issue 11 walks — including an at one point — Cincinnati rookie Chase Burns was far more efficient while matching Ashcraft pitch for pitch
Ashcraft bounced back from a rocky performance in a loss to St. Louis with the best start of his young career. The 26-year-old allowed four hits over 7 2/3 innings with a pair of walks and six strikeouts. He also benefited from a couple of excellent defensive plays behind him.
NATIONALS 3, BREWERS 2
WASHINGTON (AP) — Nasim Nuñez had a pair of run-scoring singles, CJ Abrams had two hits and scored twice, and Washington beat Milwaukee to avoid a three-game sweep.
José Tena had an RBI triple for Washington, which improved to 4-12 at Nationals Park.
Nationals right fielder James Wood lost Gary Sánchez’s fly ball off Gus Varland in the sun for a one-out single in the ninth. Richard Lovelady came on and, after giving up a single to Jake Bauers, retired Garrett Mitchell on a grounder that scored pinch-runner Blake Perkins. Lovelady then struck out Brandon Lockridge for his first save.
Zack Littell (1-4) allowed a run over 3 2/3 innings after PJ Poulin opened with two scoreless frames.
Lockridge had a double and a single for the Brewers, who had won three straight.
TWINS 4, BLUE JAYS 3
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Andrew Morris pitched 3 2/3 scoreless innings in relief of starter Joe Ryan, who , and Minnesota held on to beat Toronto to split a four-game series.
Ryan, a 2025 All-Star, struck out Yohendrick Piñango to start the game. He then walked Kazuma Okamoto and immediately signaled to catcher Victor Caratini and the dugout before leaving.
Luke Keaschall had a pair of hits, including an RBI double in a three-run fifth inning for Minnesota, which had lost 13 of 16 entering the game. The Twins as Toronto scored eight runs before an out was recorded in the eighth against Minnesota’s bullpen, which started the day with a 5.48 ERA, third-worst in the majors.
PHILLIES 7, MARLINS 2
MIAMI (AP) — Bryson Stott hit a three-run homer to cap a six-run first inning, Jesús Luzardo pitched into the seventh as Philadelphia beat Miami.
Trea Turner led off the game with a ground-rule double off Chris Paddack (0-5), who then walked Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper to load the bases.
Alec Bohm drove in a run with a slow roller when Harper hustled to beat shortstop Otto Lopez’s throw to second. Brandon Marsh walked to score another run and J.T. Realmuto hit a sacrifice fly on Paddack’s 27th pitch for the first out and a 3-0 lead.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — Jonathan Aranda hit a game-ending single in the 10th inning to cap a 4-for-5 afternoon, and Tampa Bay beat San Francisco to complete a three-game sweep.
After Junior Caminero was intentionally walked leading off the 10th, from Caleb Kilian (1-1) into short right-center to score automatic runner Chandler Simpson from second, giving Tampa Bay its ninth win in 10 games and sending San Francisco to its sixth straight loss.
The Rays tied it at 1-1 in the eighth on a safety squeeze by Ryan Vilade, who guided his bunt down the first-base line. Caminero slid in ahead of the throw from first baseman Rafael Devers.
The Giants went ahead in the first when Devers doubled and to left and scored on a single from Casey Schmitt. San Francisco scored just two runs during the series at Tropicana Field and was 1 for 11 with runners in scoring position Sunday.
CUBS 8, DIAMONDBACKS 4
CHICAGO (AP) — Michael Busch hit a three-run triple and a sacrifice fly, and Chicago beat Arizona for its fifth straight win.
Moisés Ballesteros homered as Chicago improved to 15-3 in its last 18 games. Matthew Boyd (2-1) pitched six innings of two-run ball.
At 22-12, the Cubs are a season-high 10 games over .500. They have won 11 straight home games for the first time since they won 14 in a row at Wrigley Field in 2008.
Gabriel Moreno and Adrian Del Castillo each hit two-run homers for Arizona in its fourth straight loss. Merrill Kelly (1-3) allowed six runs and eight hits in 4 1/3 innings.
The Diamondbacks had a chance to get back in the game in the seventh, loading the bases with two down. But Ketel Marte struck out swinging against Phil Maton, ending the inning.
YANKEES 11, ORIOLES 3
NEW YORK (AP) — Jasson Domínguez hit a two-run homer and an RBI single in a seven-run eighth inning and New York routed Baltimore for its 13th win in 15 games.
Aaron Judge hit his 13th homer in the third off Baltimore rookie Trey Gibson to give the Yankees a 3-1 lead and tie Munetaka Murakami of the Chicago White Sox for the major league lead in home runs.
Ben Rice hit his 12th homer in the first inning and doubled ahead of Judge’s two-run shot before leaving with a bruised left hand. Rice was injured fielding a low pickoff toss from Max Fried in the third, and the Yankees said X-rays were negative and the first baseman is day to day.
Playing his fifth game since being recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes Barre, Domínguez opened the sixth with a double to left off Grant Wolfram (1-1) that went past third baseman Weston Wilson and to the warning track.
ASTROS 3, RED SOX 1, 10 INNINGS
BOSTON (AP) — Cam Smith hit a two-out, two-run single off the Green Monster in the 10th inning, and Houston beat Boston to take the series.

Spencer Strider made his season debut for the Braves and allowed three runs and four hits in 3 1/3 innings in his return from an oblique injury suffered in spring training. He struck out six and walked five.

Holmes (4-2) allowed four hits with three walks and six strikeouts as the Mets took two of three games from the Angels and won a series for just the second time since April 7. New York also won two of three against Minnesota (April 21-23).
The Mets used Bo Bichette at shortstop Sunday, one day after Ronny Mauricio fractured his left thumb and was placed on the injured list. Shortstop Francisco Lindor also is on the IL with a calf strain.
Jorge Soler had an RBI single for the Angels and right-hander Jack Kochanowicz (2-1) gave up two runs on five hits over 6 1/3 innings with three walks and six strikeouts. Los Angeles had ended a season-high seven-game losing streak Saturday. The Angels are 2-12 since April 18.
The Angels took a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Zach Neto and Mike Trout worked walks to open the game against Holmes and Soler hit a one-out run-scoring single to center.
PADRES 4, WHITE SOX 3
SAN DIEGO (AP) — Xander Bogaerts hit a go-ahead single in the eighth, Miguel Andujar and Manny Machado homered and San Diego beat Chicago to snap a four-game skid.
Ramón Laureano walked to lead off the eighth, stole second base and moved to third on Jackson Merrill’s single. After Merrill stole second, Bogaerts singled to give San Diego a 4-3 lead.
Chicago’s Derek Hill hit a two-run shot that tied it at 3 in the seventh.
Jason Adam (1-0) pitched a scoreless eighth and Mason Miller struck out the side in the ninth for his 11th save, ending Chicago’s five-game winning streak. Griffin Canning started in his debut for the Padres and allowed one run and struck out seven in five innings.
White Sox starter Anthony Kay allowed three runs — two earned — and seven hits with five strikeouts in five innings. Tyler Davis (0-1) allowed one earned run in one-plus innings.
Drew Romo hit a leadoff homer in the third that gave the White Sox a 1-0 lead.
ROYALS 4, MARINERS 1
SEATTLE (AP) — Vinnie Pasquantino scored the go-ahead run in a three-run fourth inning and Kansas City held Seattle to just four hits for a win.
Kris Bubic (3-1) pitched seven innings, allowing four hits, one earned run and striking out seven to finish off a three-game sweep.
Seattle’s only run came in the third when Leo Rivas scored on a fielder’s choice groundball from Josh Naylor.
Mariners starter Luis Castillo (0-3) walked Carter Jensen with the bases loaded to tie the game. Jac Caglianone followed with a grounder to Naylor, who got the force out at second but Pasquantino scored to make it a 2-1 game.
Isaac Collins then hit a fly ball to center field to score Salvador Perez from third, as Perez barely beat the throw home by Julio Rodríguez. Home plate umpire Clint Vondrak initially called Perez out, but the call was overturned and the Royals pushed their lead to two runs.
Collins drove in Caglianone with an RBI double in the sixth to make it 4-1.
In six innings, Castillo gave up four earned runs on six hits and two walks with five strikeouts. Nick Davila pitched the ninth in his MLB debut.
Daniel Lynch IV struck out three in 1 1/3 innings for his first save of the season.
TIGERS 7, RANGERS 1
DETROIT (AP) — Spencer Torkelson hit a two-run homer and Detroit pulled away to a victory over Texas.
Torkelson had gone five games without a homer after tying a franchise record by homering in five consecutive games.
Kevin McGonigle had two RBI singles and Matt Vierling added a two-run double for Detroit, which has won all five of its home series. Hao-Yu Lee chipped in a run-scoring single.
Tyler Holton served as an opener and retired two of the three batters he faced. Brant Hunter (4-0) tossed 3 1/3 scoreless innings for the win, allowing two hits and striking out two.
Rangers starter Jack Leiter tied his career high with 10 strikeouts. He lasted 6 2/3 innings and was charged with five runs.
Leiter struck out six of the first eight batters he faced. He didn’t allow a baserunner until he issued a four-pitch walk to Riley Greene. Torkelson fell behind in the count 0-2, then clubbed a hanging slider over the left field wall to give Detroit a 2-0 lead.
