New York Yankees switch hitting left fielder Jasson Dominguez cracked three home runs in their 10-2 win in Sacramento, Calif. against the Athletics at Sutter Health Park on Friday night and became the youngest player in franchise history at 22 years and 91 days old to accomplish this historic feat, which was previously set by Joe DiMaggio at 22 years, 200 days old in 1937.
Dominguez ended the night in his four at-bats, scoring three runs, with his three hits being three blasts, seven RBIs, and striking out once during his performance.
According to Theo DeRosa of MLB.com, “Domínguez became the first Yankee since Aaron Hicks in 2018 with a three-homer game that included homers from both sides. He’s the third player in MLB history to do that with a grand slam, a feat previously accomplished by Bill Mueller in 2003.”
Dominguez heading into Saturday afternoon has played in 32 games to begin the 2025 season with 124 plate appearances, hitting .250/.339/.463, pounding 27 hits, eight doubles, five home runs, 19 RBI, swiping three bases, 14 walks, and 38 strikeouts.
The 22-year old slugger from Esperanza, Dominican Republic is making a strong case to represent his nation in the 2026 World Baseball Classic, when they will go up against Venezuela, Nicaragua, Israel and the Netherlands from March 6-11 in Pool D at loanDepot Park in Miami, Fla.
Dominguez hit his first home run of the game in the top of the third inning with a solo home run over the right field wall that traveled 398 feet from a 89.6 mph changeup off of starting pitcher Osvaldo Bido after Paul Goldschmidt launched his fourth home run of the year over the center field fence.

Dominguez was later sent to Triple-A Scranton to complete his full progression of his rehab on June 4, 2024 prior to him making his way back with the Yankees.
Between Low-A Tampa, Double-A Somerset, and Triple-A Scranton, Dominguez played in 58 games and batted .314/.376/.504 with 250 plate appearances, collecting 71 hits, eight doubles, one triple, 11 home runs, 35 RBI, 16 stolen bases, 22 walks, and 50 strikeouts, before he was called back up by the Yankees on August 18, 2024.
Dominguez played in 18 games with the Yankees last season, and hit .179/.313/.304 with 67 plate appearances, recording 10 hits, one double, two home runs, four RBI, five stolen bases, 11 walks, and 19 strikeouts.
In his three seasons in the majors, Dominguez has played in 58 games with a lifetime slash line of .231/.326/.451 with 224 plate appearances, 45 hits, 10 doubles, 11 home runs, 30 RBI, nine stolen bases, 27 walks, and 65 strikeouts.
