On Tuesday, a crazy story emerged from Division III college baseball with a matchup between Yeshiva University and Lehman College. The teams played a doubleheader that ended Yeshiva’s historic drought.
The first game resulted in a 7-6 win for Lehman. It was their first win of the season and ended a 43-game losing streak. Before Tuesday’s win, Lehman had last won a game on May 9, 2023. They were a winless team in 2024.
The win for Lehman also extended Yeshiva’s losing streak to an astonishing 100 games. The last time they won a game was Feb. 28, 2022.
However, that finally came to an end in the last game of the doubleheader. Yeshiva defeated Lehman 9-5 to win their first game of the season.
After the action ended for the day in Teaneck, N.J., both teams officially have one win each this season.
Lehman’s next game is a doubleheader against Baruch College on Saturday, Apr. 12. The first pitch in the Bronx, N.Y., is scheduled for noon EDT.
Yeshiva’s next game is also on Saturday, Apr. 12, against Maritime College. This is a doubleheader, and the first pitch in Throggs Neck, N.Y., is scheduled for noon EDT.
