As seasons come to an end in about a week, some prospects are beginning to make their next endeavors for the fall and winter seasons. Diamondbacks prospect and Taiwanese starting pitcher Yu-Min Lin will be gearing up to join Chinese Taipei’s team in the 2024 WBSC Premier12 Tournament.

Lin, 21, has had a stellar season with the Arizona Diamondbacks. He is currently the Diamondbacks No. 13 prospect, according to MLB Pipeline. His performance during the 2021 U-23 World Cup helped to put him on the radar to land an MLB contract. He signed in December 2021 with the Diamondbacks and began his journey to the show in 2022.

His first professional season in the minor leagues was one for him to remember. Making 14 starts between rookie ball and Low-A, he threw to a 2-2 record, posting a 2.72 ERA, striking out 91 batters over 56.1 innings of work, only allowing two home runs. Lin’s workload increased for the 2023 season, pitching between High-A and Double-A. Between both teams, Lin went 6-5 with a 3.86 ERA, striking out 140 batters in 121.1 innings.

For the 2024 season, Lin spent most of this season with Double-A Amarillo. Lin made 19 starts in Double-A, going 3-6, posting a 4.28 ERA, and striking out 90 batters in 94.2 innings of work. Lin made his first Triple-A start on September 21 against the Albuquerque Isotopes, going 4.2 innings, allowing four hits, one earned run, three walks, and striking out two batters.

Ticket sales for games in Taipei City for the WBSC Premier12 Tournament have also been announced today. Ticket sales will begin on September 27, where Taipei City will host 14 Group B games at the Taipei Dome and Tianmu Baseball Stadium from November 13-18.
