The newest D1Baseball.com NCAA Division I Baseball Rankings were released from on April 23, and there were a few surprises as programs making their mark towards the end of the regular season.
Louisiana State University at 32-7 remains at No. 1 since the 2023 NCAA Division I regular season began.
The University of South Carolina improved from No. 6 in the rankings to No. 3, with their overall record at 34-6 after beating Charleston Southern University 10-4 on Tuesday and sweeping the University of Florida in their three-game series over the weekend.
Coastal Carolina University (26-12) moved up four spots in the rankings from No. 10 to No. 6, beating College of Charleston on Wednesday 12-4 and winning two out of three games against Southern Mississippi this past weekend.
The University of Arkansas (30-10) dropped two spots in the rankings, from No. 5 to No. 7, after beating the University of Central Arkansas on Tuesday 6-3 and getting swept by the University of Georgia in their three-game series last weekend.
Campbell University (31-8) improved two spots in the rankings from No. 11 to No. 9 after beating UNC-Wilmington on Tuesday 6-2 and sweeping High Point University in their three-game series this past weekend.
The University of Connecticut (29-11) was No. 15 in the country last week and now is No. 10 after losing to Northeastern University on Tuesday 12-3, beating Boston College on Wednesday 12-1, and sweeping Georgetown University in their two-game series last weekend.
Boston College (27-12) leapt nine spots in the ranking from to No. 11 after sweeping the University of North Carolina in their three game series over the weekend.
East Carolina University (29-11) fell five spots to No. 12, beating UNC-Charlotte on Wednesday 6-2 and losing all three games in their series against Wichita State University this past weekend.
The University of Virginia (32-9) dropped five spots in the rankings to No. 13, beating Virginia Commonwealth University on Tuesday 19-6 and losing two games to Notre Dame on Friday 10-7 and Sunday 10-2.
The University of Louisville (26-13) dropped nine spots in the rankings to No. 21, losing to the University of Indiana on Tuesday 7-3 and got swept by Duke University in their three-game series last weekend.
University of Tennessee, West Virginia University, Dallas Baptist University, and Duke University entered the Top 25 rankings this week.
