Baseball United’s UAE Series between the Mid East Falcons and Arabia Wolves will occur February 14-16 at Baseball United’s new stadium in Dubai. The league announced in a press release that Albert Pujols will serve as a color commentator for the series.
Pujols is a future Hall of Famer and just managed the Leones del Escogido to a Caribbean Series title in his first season as the manager. Pujols is a co-owner of Baseball United.
“Major League Baseball will also carry the three-game series on its flagship property, MLB.TV” read Baseball United’s press release. “Baseball United’s ownership group includes 20 current and former MLB stars, including Hall of Famers Barry Larkin, Mariano Rivera, and Adrian Beltre. Future Hall of Famer and Baseball United Co-owner Albert Pujols will serve as the color commentator on the broadcast.”
Joey Zanaboni will join Pujols in the booth. The UAE Series will be the first time any of Baseball United’s new franchises take the field. Players like Didi Gregorius, Jair Jurrjens, Robinson Canó, Alex Liddi, and Pablo Sandoval are all rostered for the Wolves and Falcons.
Pujols has been a part of growing baseball worldwide, including in Southeast Asia and the Middle East. He will now share his game knowledge with regional fans with his color commentary.
