Brendan Lawson Set to be an Impactful Hitter for the Florida Gators in 2026

Brendan Lawson is one of the big-time hitters to watch for the Florida Gators in 2026. The Toronto-native had a huge freshman season for the Gators in 2025. His sophomore season is a huge opportunity to break out as a college baseball star.

Lawson and his SEC All-Freshman Season in 2025

The 2025 season was an exceptional one for Lawson. He had a .317 batting average while starting in 60 games for Florida. Lawson also had a .417 on-base percentage, 14 doubles, 10 home runs, and 61 RBI.

The infielder had a top-three batting average on Florida’s team a season ago and had the second-most RBI. The only player with more RBI last season was Bobby Boser.

Lawson’s best game of the 2025 season came during the Conway regional in the NCAA Tournament against the Fairfield Stags. In a 17-2 win for Florida, he had five hits, three RBI, and scored three runs.

The great 2025 season for Lawson led him to be named a second-team freshman All-American by D1 Baseball and Perfect Game. Baseball America named Lawson a first-team freshman All-American. He was also a member of the SEC’s All-Freshman team in 2025, along with his teammate Aidan King.

He was named to the first-team All-CCBL team, along with other Gators’ players like Caden McDonald and Christian Rodriguez.
