Tigres de Quintana Roo (42-37) 7, Guerreros de Oaxaca (41-40) 6 – The Guerreros scored two runs with two outs in the bottom of the ninth before Juniel Querecuto flew out to end the game as the Tigres held on to win their third straight and move into a tie for third place with Leon. Alexis Wilson drove in three runs with a pair of singles for Quintana Roo, and JJ Matijevic hit a solo homer.
Dorados de Chihuahua (32-49) 8, Caliente de Durango (44-36) 1 – Juan Yepez drove in three runs, grounding out to first to score one in the opening frame and doubling home a pair in the fourth, and Dairon Miranda hit a three-run homer in the second as the Dorados took the series finale from Durango, staving off elimination for another day. The second-place Caliente hold a half-game lead on Monterrey.

YESTERDAY: Bravos de Leon Halt Diablos Streak at 14; Yucatan Scores Six Late Runs to Beat Queretaro
Piratas de Campeche (41-37) 5, El Aguila de Veracruz (38-43) 1 – Emmanuel Avila hit a three-run homer in the second and Jesse Castillo hit a solo homer in the fourth as Campeche easily got past Veracruz. The win puts the Piratas in fifth place, where they are a half-game behind Leon and Quintana Roo for third and a half-game ahead of Puebla, which holds the sixth and final playoff spot in the Zona Sur.

Bravos de Leon (42-39) 8, Diablos Rojos del Mexico (54-27) 6 – Connor Panas hit a two-run homer, Alejandro Mejia drove in two runs, and the Bravos torched Diablos Rojos starter Brooks Hall for five runs on six hits in 3 1/3 innings to take the series two games to one and move into a tie for third. Julian Ornelas hit a three-run homer in the first. The Diablos magic number to clinch home field advantage is two, meaning any number of Diablos wins and Tigres/Bravos losses that adds up to two will clinch them a top-three playoff seed.

Rieleros de Aguascalientes (38-39) 14, Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos (29-52) 10 – Six different Rieleros each had a two-RBI game as Aguascalientes handed the Tecos their fourth straight loss and the 52nd defeat of the season. Amilcar Gomez and Angel Reyes each had three hits for the Rieleros, and Aaron Antonini hit a two-run homer.

Sultanes de Monterrey (44-37) 4, Saraperos de Saltillo (32-48) 0 – Jared Wetherbee threw seven shutout innings, allowing five hits and walking one while striking out eight for Monterrey. A first-inning single by Harold Ramirez gave the Sultanes all the offense they would need.
Conspiradores de Queretaro (34-46) 7, Leones de Yucatan (28-51) 0 – Tyler Viza threw a complete game shutout, allowing eight hits and striking out five while using just 102 pitches to stifle the Leones. Fabricio Macias hit a two-run double in the sixth and Roel Santos hit a solo homer in the seventh for the Conspiradores.
Toros de Tijuana (53-25) 2, Charros de Jalisco (40-40) 1 (12 Innings) – An RBI single by former New York Met Wilmer Flores got Franchy Cordero home and gave the Toros their 53rd win of the year. With the win, the Toros can finish no lower than fourth in the Zona Norte, while Jalisco falls to fifth place and an even .500, where the Charros hold a half-game lead on Aguascalientes.

Acereros de Monclova (42-39) 3, Algodoneros de Union Laguna (37-44) 1 – Rusber Estrada’s two-run homer in the fifth put the Acereros ahead for good, and Juan Mora got an insurance run home with a ground out to first later in the inning. Starter Jake McSteen allowed one run on three hits over seven innings, striking out three and walking none. The win puts the Acereros in fourth place in the Zona Norte, a game and a half ahead of Jalisco and two games behind third-place Monterrey.
