The Caimanes de Barranquilla are 7-0 in the 2024-25 LPBC regular season, and the Vaqueros de Monteria are 5-4.
Allegretti threw nine innings and allowed seven walks and seven strikeouts during his no-hit performance on Thursday night on the road.
The Caimanes de Barranquilla offense struck 12 hits against the Vaqueros de Monteria pitching staff.
Vaqueros de Monteria manager Ronald Ramriez’s pitching staff, with starting pitcher Alvery De Los Santos, relief pitchers Kermin Guardia, Christian Scafidi, and Carlos Mario Diaz, threw nine innings, allowing six earned runs, three walks, and 11 strikeouts during Thurday’s loss.
The Caimanes de Barranquilla cracked their first run of the game in the top of the second inning when left fielder Dilson Herrera drilled an RBI single to right field, scoring designated hitter Jose Martinez to make it 1-0.
The Caimanes de Barranquilla offense punched six runs on the board in the top of the fourth inning to open the floodgates when Martinez scored on a wild pitch during the ninth hitter in the lineup, right fielder Jesus Marriaga’s at-bat to extend the lead to 2-0.
Rounding the top of the order for Caimanes de Barranquilla, second baseman Michael Arroyo roped an RBI single to right field, scoring Herrera to unleash their third run of the game.
A few moments later, Caimanes de Barranquilla center fielder Carlos Arroyo reached on a fielder’s choice and a throwing error from Vaqueros de Monteria second baseman Devi Munoz, resulting in catcher Guillermo Quintana and Marriaga coming into score to make it 5-0.
The final two runs of the game for the Caimanes de Barranquilla offense came off the bat of first baseman Jordan Diaz when he crushed a two-run single to center field, scoring third baseman Gabriel Urena and shortstop Fabian Pertuz to ignite their 7-0 lead.
Caimanes de Barranquilla manager Jose Mosquera had trust in Allegretti the whole game despite the number of walks he was giving up prior to the start of the bottom of the ninth inning.
Allegretti issued his seventh walk of the game when he walked Vaqueros de Monteria first baseman Osman Marval with two outs on a 3-1 count.
The next batter, Vaqueros de Monteria designated hitter Leandro Benitez, got a hit-by-pitch, drawing it first and second with two outs and center fielder Andres Angulo coming up to bat as the final hope to break up the no-hitter.
Allegretti eventually got Angulo to fly out to Caimanes de Barranquilla center fielder Irving Ortega for the final out of the game to complete the no-hitter and shut out the Vaqueros de Monteria 7-0 on the road.

World Baseball Network Q&A With Caimanes de Barranquilla Starting Pitcher Christian Allegretti From iMessage:
Jose Mosquera is an incredible leader and great person. He is a manager who I can learn a lot from. He has accomplished so much here with the Caimanes de Barranquilla, and the future looks bright for the organization with him as the manager.
Being with Staten Island this year was great. I had the opportunity to work alongside and learn from a very talented group of players and very talented coaching staff. Here in Colombia with the Caimanes de Baranquilla. I am lucky to continue working with players who are currently working in affiliated baseball and work alongside a very talented coaching staff. Learning from their expertise, I can only focus on one pitch at a time. The rest will take care of itself. I look forward to future opportunities, but for now, I will keep my feet where they are.
