The Caribbean Baseball Professional Confederation announced during their press conference in San Juan, Puerto Rico on May 18 the scheduled dates for the 2024 Caribbean Series in Miami will take place on February 1-9 or 2-10 at loanDepot Park.

The 66th Caribbean Series will mark the first time that the event will be played at a Major League Baseball stadium. The event will run from February 1 through February 9 if it is played with seven teams and February 2 through February 10 if it is played with eight teams.

The four confederation members that will be in the tournament are Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Venezuela along with the two invitees Curacao and Nicaragua. The organizing committee has also been discussing the possibility of inviting Panama and Colombia to the tournament.

The Caribbean Series organization committee and Miami Marlins executives have already held press conferences in Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, and Venezuela during the last month and a half.

“We are very enthusiastic about the support we have received from the leagues of each country, the Confederation and the players. We are working daily to create alliances with brands, artists and create ambassadors at all levels that support us in spreading the message of the event,”  said Sara Loarte, the director of the Caribbean Series organizing committee at the press conference on May 18 in San Juan.

The other attendees that were present at the press conference in San Juan on May 18 were Caroline O’Connor, the president of the Miami Marlins, Tony Flores, the president of Liga de Beisbol Profesional Roberto Clemente, and Yamil Benitez, the president of the Confederation of Caribbean Professional Baseball Players, all of whom have been traveling to the participating countries to promote the Caribbean Series for Miami extensively.

The Caribbean Series has been held in Miami twice before. In 1990, the tournament was held at the Orange Bowl, which is now the current site of loanDepot Park, and in 1991, the event was held at Bobby Maduro Miami Stadium.
