Chinese Taipei announced its roster for the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, which will take place at the Shaoxing Baseball Softball Sports Culture Center from October 1-7.

Chinese Taipei is currently No. 4 in the World Baseball Rankings.

The best result Chinese Taipei has recently seen in an international senior event was a fifth place finish in the 2019 Premier 12. During the 2019 Asian Championship in Taiwan, Chinese Taipei beat Japan in the gold medal game, which was the last time that they won gold at a regional senior event.

The 24-man roster for Chinese Taipei will consist of players playing in the Chinese Professional Baseball League in Taiwan, players assigned to Minor League affiliates of Major League Baseball organizations, semi-professional teams, independent leagues in the United States, and Nippon Professional Baseball.

There are only three players that are returning from the 2023 World Baseball Classic roster, Major League Baseball journeyman Tzu-Wei Lin, Lin Li from the CPBL’s Rakuten Monkeys, and Cheng Tsung-Che, from the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.

The Chinese Taipei national team played four games of their International Friendship Series against the United States Collegiate National Team in North Carolina to prepare their roster.

Chinese Taipei will play their final game against the United States Collegiate National Team at 6 p.m. EDT at Segra Stadium in Fayetteville, N.C., and the game will be streamed on USA Baseball’s YouTube page.

The Shaoxing Baseball Softball Sports Culture Center complex is located in the north of Shaoxing City. There are two baseball fields that are on the complex grounds. The main stadium on the complex grounds can seat 5,000 people and add 5,000 temporary seats. The second stadium has 1,500 seats and can add 1,000 temporary seats.

Shaoxing Baseball Softball Sports Culture Center was supposed to be the site of the baseball and softball events at the Asian Games for 2022, but the games were canceled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The date of the 19th Asian Games is from September 23 to October 8.
