McKee officially accomplished the feat on Friday, April 24, against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons at Russ Chandler Stadium in Atlanta.
In that game, McKee struck out eight in five innings.
The right-hander has 56 strikeouts this season in 51 innings of work. Over that same stretch, McKee has a 4.24 ERA and an impressive 7-1 record.
He has been a solid anchor within the Georgia Tech starting rotation.
McKee and his career with Georgia Tech
Before the 2026 college baseball season, McKee put up some good numbers for Georgia Tech on the mound.
Despite having an ERA above 7.00 in 2024, McKee was able to throw 61 strikeouts in 47 innings of work. He made eight starts that season for the Yellow Jackets and was more often used out of the bullpen.
In 2025, McKee showed what he could do as a starter. In 16 starts and 80 innings of work, he had 83 strikeouts and a 4.84 ERA. He also had an 8-3 record on the mound.
McKee played a role in leading Georgia Tech to the 2025 Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) regular season championship that season as well.
