Japan confirmed as WBSC/KONAMI Men’s Baseball World Ranking No. 1 at end of 2024

Japan (6,911 points), Chinese Taipei (5,558) and Venezuela (4,877) finished 2024 on the podium of the WBSC/KONAMI Men’s Baseball World Ranking. Japan gained the most points of the 2024 season (2,494). Chinese Taipei was the only other programme to earn over 2,000 points (2,195). The historic WBSC Premier12 2024, presented by RAXUS title was worth 1,380 points.

Venezuela gained 1,613 points in 2024, 906 came from finishing fourth in the Premier12.

Mexico (4,769 points) fell two spots from No. 2 to No. 4 in 2024. The tricolores earned 1,009 points in 2024.

No. 5 USA (4,751 points, 1,164 in 2024), No. 6 Korea (4,539, 1,288 in 2024) and No. 7 Netherlands (3,949 points, 977 in 2024) remained in their positions.

Venezuela, up to No. 3 from No. 4, and No. 8 Panama (3,439 points, 986 in 2024, and up two spots) were the only programmes to gain positions in the top 10.

No. 9 Puerto Rico (3,375 points) and No. 10 Cuba (3,146 points) lost both one position in 2024.

The US Virgin Islands were the top climbers of 2024. They reached No. 45, up 20 positions having collected 82 points from participating in the VI Caribbean Baseball Cup.

Men's Baseball World Ranking

The last update of the Men’s Baseball World Rankings includes 84 programmes (the record number of programmes is 85 in 2021). During 2024, 64 of them earned points.

The WBSC announced a World Ranking methodology on December 19 and will calculate the first 2025 update according to the new methodology.
