The Korea Baseball Organization’s All-Star Game was held on Saturday at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul, South Korea.
In a 10-2 rout, the Nanum All-Stars defeated the Dream All-Stars 10-2. Hanwha Eagles catcher Heo In-So, who had four hits, was named the game’s MVP.
The Nanum All-Stars scored five of their 10 runs in the top of the sixth. Eagles infielder Lee Do-yun, who had three RBIs in the game, roped a two-run single.
Heo recorded one of his four base hits in the blowout with an RBI single to lead off the frame. Team Dream scored their runs in the third and ninth innings, but they were outhit 22 to nine.
Doosan Bears right-hander Gwak Been was the starting pitcher on the mound for the Dream All-Stars. The Kia Tigers’ Adam Oller received the nod for the Nanum All-Stars.
Team Nanum featured players from the LG Twins, Tigers, NC Dinos, Kiwoom Heroes and the Eagles. Team Dream had representatives from the Samsung Lions, Bears, KT Wiz, SSG Landers and Lotte Giants.
Jamsil Baseball Stadium hosted a sellout crowd of 23,750. The ballpark, which opened in 1982, will be demolished following the season.
This was the fifth consecutive All-Star Game sellout for the KBO, according to a report from The Chosun Daily.
The Chosun Daily’s report included that there was a “Fan Fest Zone” set up at the ballpark on Saturday. Those in attendance could purchase merchandise and participate in fun games.
The KBO’s second-half season starts Thursday, with all 10 teams taking the field.
