Indios del Boer manager Joel Fuentes escaped a 1-0 win and 3-2 lead in the Liga Beisbol Profesional National championship series over defending champions Gigantes de Rivas.

Boer starting pitcher Yeudy Garcia pitched well last night, going six innings allowing five hits, walking one batter and striking out four during his performance under the lights at Estadio Nacional Soberania in Managua, Nicaragua.

Boer’s Bryan Torres went two full innings pitched and combined with Olbis Parra for four strikeouts, holding the lead and keeping Gigantes hitless in the late innings of the shutout victory.

Boer in the eighth inning took the lead with a solo home run from Manuel Geraldo.  Geraldo’s home run was one of four hits for Boer’s offense during last night’s victory.

Gigantes starting pitcher Leonardo Crawford pitched 6.2 innings allowing just two hits, walking four batters, and striking out seven. Gigantes relief pitcher Samuel Adams went 1.1 innings, allowing two hits, one earned run, walking no batters, and striking out no batters.

Gigantes manager Lenin Picota will have his work cut out for him on Saturday to get his team to a potential game seven and attempt to repeat as champions.

The Liga de Beisbol Profesional Nacional Championship Series will move back to Rivas at Estadio Yamil Rios, with the first pitch of game six at 7 p.m. EST and streaming on VivaNicaragua13 Youtube and Facebook platforms.
