LIDOM week 3 Recap: Tigres del Licey and Àgulias Cibaeñas Set to Play Two Game Series in Puerto Rico 

Tigres del Licey and Águlias Cibaeñas will bring LIDOM to Puerto Rico on December 7-8 for a two-game series at Hiram Bithorn Stadium in San Juan. December 8 will also be the Liga de Beisbol Professional Roberto Clemente All-Star game at Roberto Clemente Stadium in Carolina, Puerto Rico.

Àguilas Cibaeñas 3, Tigres del Licey 1  

Tigres del Licey had a strong pitching performance from left-handed starting pitcher Steve Moyers, who pitched 5.1 innings of one-run ball in the 3-1 loss to Aguilas Cibaenas.

Aguilas Cibaenas added utilityman J.C. Escarra to their lineup on November 1. Escarra was also added to the New York Yankees 40-man roster on November 2. Escarra has hit one double in his three games with Aguilas Cibaenas. Escarra is making his LIDOM debut after playing internationally in Mexico and Puerto Rico for the last three seasons.

Escarra hit 12 home runs with 64 RBI and an OPS of .789 in 426 at-bats with the Yankees Double-A affiliate, the Somerset Patriots, and Triple-A affiliate, the Scranton Wilkes-Barre RailRiders.

Gigantes del Cibao 9, Estrellas Orientales 3  

Third baseman Kelvin Gutierrez led the charge for Gigantes del Cibao, going 4-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and two runs scored. That was his first home run of the season to go along with nine RBI and an OPS of .820 in 54 at-bats.

This is his seventh season with Gigantes del Cibao, and he has hit 21 home runs and driven in 149 runs. Guiterrez played for the Kansas City Royals from 2019-2021. He also played for the Baltimore Orioles and made his last MLB appearance with them in 2022. Guitterez hit four MLB home runs.

Estrellas Orientlaes got a two-hit performance from middle infidel Euribiel Angeles, who drove in one of their three runs. Last season, Angeles played with the San Diego Padres’ Double-A affiliate, the Midland RockHounds, and hit seven home runs with 64 RBI and 19 stolen bases.

Leones del Escogido 11, Toros del Este 8 

Leones del Escogido shortstop Erik Gonzalez went 3-for-5 with a home run and four RBI in the 11-8 win against Toros del Este. Gonzales is second in LIDOM with a .347 batting average, trailing only his teammate Jean Segura at .396.

Gonzalez played in MLB for parts seven seasons from 2016-2022 and made his last appearance with the Miami Marlins. He hit 11 home runs, with 77 RBI, and 13 stolen bases in 842 at-bats. This is his 11th season with Leones del Escogido.

Toros Del Este Center fielder Luis Liberato and left fielder Sandro Fabian each hit one home run with three RBI in the loss to Leones del Escogido. This is Fabin’s fourth season in LIDOM and his first with Toros del Este.

Liberato has two home runs and nine RBI with an OPS of .864 in 49 at-bats this season. Liberato is in his second season with Toros del Este and has played nine seasons in LIDOM.
