Pericos de Puebla (19-13) 5, Tigres de Quintana Roo (11-21) 3 – A sac fly from Miguel Guzman and a two-run double by Herlis Rodriguez scored three in the third for Puebla, and they’d add two more in the seventh, one on a wild pitch and one on a solo homer from Moises Gomez as the Pericos handed the Tigres their ninth straight loss. Starter Antonio Santos went six innings, allowing two hits, two walks, two runs, and striking out five.
Guerreros de Oaxaca (21-10) 17, Conspiradores de Queretaro (14-17) 3 (Game 1/Seven Innings) – The Guerreros rewarded their fans with a fireworks display in the first game at the new Estadio Yu’va in Oaxaca, and Juniel Querecuto let the way, going 3-for-5 with three runs scored and six RBIs. The Guerreros scored nine in the third and eight more in the sixth. Queretaro’s Dwight Smith Jr. hit the first homer in the new ballpark, a solo shot in the first.
Guerreros de Oaxaca (22-10) 8, Conspiradores de Queretaro (14-18) 4 – Mel Rojas Jr. hit a grand slam in the fifth for the first Guerreros homer in the new stadium, and starter Radhames Liz allowed one earned run in five innings, walking three and striking out one. Henry Urrutia hit a solo homer in the sixth for Queretaro.

Sultanes de Monterrey (21-11) 8, Caliente de Durango (15-16) 1 – Ricardo Genoves went 2-for-4, scored twice, and drove in four runs, including a pair with a homer in the fifth, as the Sultanes held the pace a game and a half behind Tijuana in the Zona Norte. Jose Cardona also hit a two-run homer for Monterrey, and starter Manny Banuelos allowed one run on three hits in 5 1/3 innings.
Piratas de Campeche (13-19) 5, Bravos de Leon (18-14) 2 – Jesus Fabela hit a three-run homer and scored twice as the Piratas took the middle game of the series from Leon. Campeche’s bullpen combined to allow four hits and a walk over six shutout innings. Gabriel Cancel’s 10th homer of the year drove in both Bravos runs.
Rieleros de Aguascalientes (17-15) 9, Saraperos de Saltillo (10-21) 5 – The Rieleros scored six runs in the third and rolled to victory over the Saraperos, who are no 12 games behind first-place Tijuana. Oscar De La Cruz allowed two earned runs on six in six innings, walking two and striking out five for Aguascalientes.
Diablos Rojos del Mexico (19-13) 6, El Aguila de Veracruz (15-17) 1 – Waiting until the last minute like a fifth grader with math homework, the Diablos Rojos scored two in the eighth on a two-run homer from Maikel Franco, then got four in the ninth on a sac fly from Jon Singleton, a two-run homer from Franco, and a solo homer from Julian Ornelas as the Diablos took the second game of the series.
Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos (17-15) 12, Charros de Jalisco (18-14) 4 – Dos Laredos sent 17 batters to the plate and scored 11 runs in the top of the sixth as they blew out the Charros in Zapopan. Francisco Cordoba homered twice in the big inning, hitting a three-run homer to start the cascade of runs and then another three run homer when he came up to bat for the second time. Cade Gotta added a two-run homer in the frame for the Tecos.
Olmecas de Tabasco (19-13) 5, Leones de Yucatan (10-22) 2 – Marco Hernandez went 5-for-5 and scored twice, and Augustin Ruiz went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and a walk as the Olmecas sent the Leones back into the Zona Sur’s cellar alone. Yadir Drake hit a two-run homer for the Leones.
Acereros de Monclova (17-15) 8, Dorados de Chihuahua (10-22) 1 – Bryan Corral hit a two-run homer in the second to give the Acereros a 4-0 lead, and Monclova scored four more in the sixth, three on RBI singles from Rodolfo Amador, Jacob Rhinesmith, and David Hensley and another on a ground out by Aldo Nunez to get by Chihuahua. The Dorados fell into last place in the Zona Norte, a half game behind Saltillo.
Toros de Tijuana (22-9) 4, Algodoneros de Union Laguna (12-20) 0 – Franchy Cordero singled in one run and Justin Turner hit a three-run homer in the fourth as the Toros made short work of the Algodoneros. Adonis Medina threw 6 1/3 shutout innings, walked one, and struck out three for Tijuana.
