Diablos Rojos del Mexico (16-12) 16, Bravos de Leon (16-12) 7 – Jon Singleton hadn’t homered in a week, but his bat got hot again on Monday night, as the former Houston Astro went 5-for-5, scored three runs, and drove in six, hitting a pair of home runs to push his league-leading total to 13 as the Diablos romped over the Bravos. Jose Marmolejos also had a two-homer night for the Diablos, hitting a two-run shot in the sixth and a solo homer in the eighth, and five Diablos relievers combined to allow two runs on five hits over 5 2/3 innings.
With the win, the Diablos caught up to the Bravos and both teams are tied for third place in the Zona Sur, 1 1/2 games behind Oaxaca and Puebla.
