Liga Mexicana de Beisbol: Leones de Yucatan Win Third Straight; Three of Six Doubleheaders Split Around League

Piratas de Campeche (30-31) 4, Diablos Rojos del Mexico (40-25) 3 (Game 1/Seven Innings) – The Piratas got to Trevor Bauer for three runs on five hits and five walks, spoiling his return to the Diablos after spending 2025 in Japan and starting 2026 with the Long Island Ducks. Armando Alvarez went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs, getting a single and a double off the former Cy Young Award winner.

Diablos Rojos del Mexico (41-25) 7, Piratas de Campeche (30-32) 6  (Game 2/Seven Innings) – Carlos Perez salvaged a win in the final game of the series for the Diablos with a three-run triple with two outs in the bottom of the seventh. Connor Hollis and Andrew Stevenson each had two RBIs for Campeche, with Stevenson hitting a two-run homer off Reds closer Tomohiro Anraku in the top of the seventh to give Campeche a 6-4 lead that didn’t last.

Dorados de Chihuahua (24-41) 6, Charros de Jalisco (34-30) 0 (Game 1/Seven Innings) – An RBI single in the third by Brainer Bonaci gave the Dorados all the offense they’d need, but they added four more in the top of the seventh when Andre Lipcius hit a grand slam for his eighth homer of the year. Starter Elian Leyva allowed three hits and a walk over seven scoreless innings for Chihuahua.

Dorados de Chihuahua (25-41) 3, Charros de Jalisco (34-31) 2 (Game 2/Seven Innings) – Andre Lipcius drove in the first run of the game in the opening frame for Chihuahua, and they added two more in the second, one on a triple by Oziel Flores and another on a sac fly by Gilberto Vizcarra that scored Flores. The Charros had just four hits in the game as the Dorados swept the doubleheader.

Conspiradores de Queretaro (30-34) 4, Olmecas de Tabasco (39-26) 1 (Game 1/Seven Innings) – Roel Santos had a solo homer and an RBI single, and Henry Urrutia and Yangervis Solarte each had solo homers in the first game of the double dip for Queretaro. Starter Brander Guevara allowed one run on four hits over five innings for the Conspiradores, walking two and striking out two.

Olmecas de Tabasco (40-26) 10, Conspiradores de Queretaro (30-35) (Game 2/Seven Innings) – The Olmecas clubbed six homers and scored 10 runs to take the second game of teh doubleheader and claim their 40th win of the season. Agustin Ruiz hit two homers, a solo shot in the third and a three-run homer in the sixth, and Tabasco scored five runs in the sixth and two more in the seventh to erase a 6-3 deficit.

Bravos de Leon (36-29) 9, El Aguila de Veracruz (28-36) 1 (Game 1/Seven Innings) – Esteban Quiroz hit a grand slam in the sixth, Sandber Pimentel hit his 15th homer of the year, and Dairon Blanco hit a two-run homer as the Bravos utilized the long ball to take the first game of the doubleheader from Veracruz.

El Aguila de Veracruz (29-35) 4, Bravos de Leon (36-30) 3 (Game 2/Seven Innings) – Wynton Bernard’s two-run double was the difference for Veracruz as El Aguila clawed a split from the Bravos, and Chris Williams went 3-for-3 with an RBI. Luis Medina hit a solo homer for Leon in the first.

Guerreros de Oaxaca (35-30) 11, Pericos de Puebla (34-29) 0 – Alexi Amarista and Juan Santana drove in three runs each, and Juniel Querecuto and Aristides Aquino each drove in two as the Guerreros walloped Puebla, with Aquino hitting the only homer of the game, a two-run shot in the second.

Sultanes de Monterrey (35-30) 7, Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos (26-40) 4 (11 Innings) – A pair of RBI doubles, one from Gustavo Nunez and one from Ismael Alcantara, and and RBI single by Javier Salazar got three runs home for Monterrey in the top of the 11th as the Grey Ghosts handed the Tecos their 40th loss of the year. Salazar, Nunez, and Victor Mendoza each had two RBIs in the win for Monterrey.

Algodoneros de Union Laguna (29-36) 4, Saraperos de Saltillo (25-37) 1 – Mason Martin drove in two runs with a single in the first and another with a double in the sixth for the Algodoneros. Former Chicago White Sox reliever Matt Foster earned his 12th save of the year, finishing out the win while allowing a hit and a walk in the ninth.

Acereros de Monclova (33-32) 9, Rieleros de Aguascalientes (28-35) 2 (Game 1/Seven Innings) – Rodolfo Amador and Jose Peraza each went 2-for-3 with three RBIs as Monclova took the first game of the doubleheader. Amador hit a two-run homer in the top of the first, and Peraza drove in three with a double in the fifth.

Rieleros de Aguascalientes (29-35) 3, Acereros de Monclova (33-33) 2 (Game 2/Seven Innings) – The Rieleros squeezed out a split, hanging on to a one-run lead after Monclova rallied in the bottom of the seventh, getting a one-out RBI single by Jose Peraza that brought the go-ahead run to the plate. Jose Rondon doubled home two runs in the fourth and later scored the winning run on a sac fly by Gabriel Noriega.

Toros de Tijuana (44-20) 6, Caliente de Durango (34-29) 2 (Game 1/Seven Innings) – Franchy Cordero and Wilmer Flores each hit a two-run homer and Phillip Evans had a pair of RBI doubles as the Toros gored Durango in the first game of the doubleheader. Starter Noah Skirrow threw five innings, allowing one run on two hits, walking two and striking out five. Estevan Florial and Jose Urena hit solo homers for Durango.

Toros de Tijuana (44-20) 10, Caliente de Durango (34-29) 8 (Game 2/Seven Innings) – Tijuana scored five runs in the sixth, getting two-run singles from Junior Lake and Aderlin Rodriguez and an RBI groundout from Rafael Ortega to cool off the Caliente in the second game. Estevan Florial hit his second homer of the day, a two-run shot in the fourth, for Durango in the loss.

Leones de Yucatan (25-38) 6, Tigres de Quintana Roo (31-32) 1 – Raudy Read hit a three-run homer in the first and Juan Uriarte hit a two-run homer in the seventh for Yucatan, which got seven scoreless innings from starter Esmil Rogers to win their third straight game. Rogers allowed five hits and a walk and struck out three to earn his third win of the year.
