Robinson Cano went 3-for-4 and hit a solo homer in the third inning for the Liga Mexicana de Beisbol Banorte All-Stars, who beat the Mexican All-Stars 5-3 at the 2026 LMB All-Star Game in Monterrey Sunday night.

The game marked the 11th time the league’s All-Star Game was held in Monterrey and was played on the 101st anniversary of the league’s formation.

Cano’s homer off Gabriel Ponce got the LMB All-Stars on the board, and Kyle Garlick of the Charros de Jalisco added an RBI single in the third that scored Gabriel Cancel for a 2-0 lead. The 17-year Major League Baseball veteran was named the MVP of the All-Star Game.

In the sixth, Juan Santana singled home Harold Ramirez and then scored himself when Mexico right fielder Juan Mora managed to make a fielding error and a throwing error on the same play. Later in the inning, Cano singled home Webster Rivas for his second RBI of the game and a 5-0 LMB All-Stars lead.

The Mexican All-Stars got on the board in the seventh, getting a two-run single from Ricardo Valenzuela that scored Maikel Serrano and Ricardo Valenzuela. Victor Marquez later hit into a fielder’s choice at shortstop with runners at the corners to score Samar Leyva and cut the lead to 5-3.
