The Missouri Tigers landed JUCO transfer Sam Parker, who formerly played at Chipola College. During his freshman season, he batted .358, had 41 RBI, and scored 34 runs himself. He decided to take the college route after getting drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 19th round of the 2023 MLB draft.
On his X account, he announced he transferred to Missouri in August.

Parker has an interesting international background. He has lived in the United States for most of his life and played high school baseball in Marietta, Ga. However, he was born in London, England, and spent three years overseas. This has led to him speaking about playing for Great Britain at international events.
In an MLB.com article, Parker said, “Yeah, that’s definitely something I’ve been thinking about…When I saw the WBC last year, I’m like, ‘Yeah, I gotta go for Great Britain.’ I wanna honestly do probably Great Britain first and then try [Team] USA, but Great Britain is definitely gonna be the first team I’m trying to rock with.”
The new member of the Tigers may have his chance. Great Britain is participating in the 2026 World Baseball Classic.
In 2023, the Brits finished fourth overall in pool C. They won one game during the tournament, defeating Colombia 7-5.
