NCAA Super Regionals: Florida Edges Clemson 11-10 in 13 Innings To Head to Omaha

Florida 11, No. 6 Clemson 10 (13 innings) – Florida outlasted Clemson 11-10 in 13 innings in the Clemson Super Regional. It was a back-and-forth affair that started with Florida two-way star Jac Caglianone hitting a two-run home run in the bottom of the first, his 33rd home run of the year, and he also started the game on the mound. Caglianone pitched 5.2 innings, with four runs allowed, and six strikeouts. 

Florida was up 9-6 going into the ninth. Clemson center fielder Cam Cannarella tied it up with a three-run home run to bring the game into extra innings. In the 10th Cannarella made an incredible play with a basket catch over his shoulder to preserve a tie game. Florida center fielder Michael Robertson hit a walk-off two run double. Florida swept Clemson and will play in the College World Series in Omaha. 

No. 7 Georgia 11, No. 10 N.C. State – Georgia evened up the series and forced a game three in the Athens Super Regional with an 11-2 win against NC State. Georgia hit four home runs and were led by designated hitter Trea Phelps with four RBI. Phelps hit a grandslam in the second inning to give Georiga a 5-0 lead. Georgia starting pitcher Leighton Finley pitched 6.2 innings, with one run allowed, and five strikeouts. 

Georgia will play game three vs NC State on Monday, June 10 at 7:00 p.m ET on ESPN/ESPN+.

Evansville 1, No. 1 Tennessee 12 – Tennessee hit seven home runs in their 12-1 win against Evansville. Second baseman Christian Moore hit two home runs and went 2-for-3 with two RBI and two walks. Catcher Cal Stark and Third baseman Billy Amick each led the team with three RBI and hit a home run. Tennessee starting pitcher Zander Sechrist pitched 6.1 innings, with one run allowed, and six strikeouts. Tennessee won the Knoxville Super Regional in three games and will play in the College World Series.

No. 3 Texas A&M 15, Oregon 9 – Texas A&M came back from an early deficit for the second straight game to beat Oregon in the Bryan-College Station Super Regional. This time they were down 6-2 after the second inning. Second Baseman Kaden Kent hit a grandslam, had five RBI, and was 3-for-5. His grand slam in the seventh inning put the game out of reach at 13-8. Texas A&M held on to win 15-9. They swept Oregon and will play in the College World Series. 

No. 2 Kentucky, No. 15 Oregon State – Kentucky won a low scoring game 3-2 against Oregon State in the Lexington Super Regional. Kentucky center fielder Nolan McCarthy had an RBI double in the second to give Kentucky a 1-0 lead. McCarthy hit a sacrifice fly in the fourth to give Kentrucky a 2-0 lead. McCarthy was two-for-two with two RBI. Oregon State tied the game in the fourth with two bases loaded walks. 

Kentucky took the lead in the seventh after Oregon State catcher Wilson Weber allowed McCarthy to score from second on a dropped third strike from pitcher Jacob Kmatz. Kentucky swept Oregon State and will be the seventh ranked team that will play in the College World Series this season.
