This past Friday, the New York Mets made a change to their usual uniform rotation. Normally, the Mets wear their black alternate uniforms on Friday night home games at Citi Field.
However, due to an upcoming film starring Emma Stone, the Mets wore their traditional white pinstripe uniforms against the Los Angeles Dodgers on July 24.
Stone is a two-time Academy Award-winning actress. She won “Best Actress” awards for the films “La La Land” and “Poor Things” in 2017 and 2024, respectively.

Stone was in attendance during the New York Mets’ 4-2 loss to the Dodgers. She was at Citi Field to film scenes for “The Catch,” which will release in May 2o27. The 37-year-old actress donned a white Mets ballcap with a blue brim and sat in the stands while filming these scenes.
“The Catch” is allegedly a romantic comedy that will also co-star Chris Pine. The 45-year-old actor also starred in other films such as “Star Trek” and “Wonder Woman.”
Despite starring in the film, Pine was not at Citi Field with Stone filming scenes.
Juan Soto to make a cameo in the film
Apparently Pine and Stone will share the big screen with a New York Mets star in “The Catch.” Mets outfielder and five-time All-Star Juan Soto is making a cameo appearance in the upcoming romantic comedy.
According to ABC 10, Soto and Stone filmed a scene for the movie before Friday night’s game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Soto has not only made movie headlines, but also baseball headlines for a stellar 2026 season. The six-time Silver Slugger has a .283 batting average with New York this year along with a .947 OPS. Soto also has 21 home runs, 52 RBIs, and has scored 46 runs.
During a down year for the Mets, he leads the team in all of those statistical categories. The former World Series champion was also placed on the 10-day injured list after Friday night’s game against Los Angeles due to a left calf strain.
