The Arizona Fall League will play its 31st season this year, starting Oct. 2, 2023, and will conclude the play-in semifinal on November 10 and the championship game will be held on November 11.
The AFL season will feature a tripleheader on October 14 at Goodyear Ballpark, the spring training home of the Cleveland Guardians and the Cincinnati Reds. There will be a doubleheader at Hohokam Stadium, the spring training home of the Oakland Athletics, on October 28.
The AFL’s Home Run Derby will be scheduled for November 4, followed by the Fall Stars Game on November 5, with both events at Sloan Park.
The participating teams in the Arizona Fall League this year will be the Glendale Desert Dogs, Mesa Solar Sox, Peoria Javelinas, Salt River Rafters, Scottsdale Scorpions, and Surprise Saguaros.
Five Major League Baseball organizations to the rosters of each of the six teams in the Arizona Fall League for the 2023 season.
This year, the Glendale Desert Dogs will feature players from the Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Mets, Boston Red Sox, Minnesota Twins, and Chicago White Sox. Iggy Suarez of the Boston Red Sox organization will manage the Glendale Desert Dogs.
The Mesa Solar Sox, piloted by James Cooper of the New York Yankees, will have a roster of prospects from the Houston Astros, Oakland Athletics, Chicago Cubs, Baltimore Orioles, and New York Yankees.
The Peoria Javelinas will draw players from the Cleveland Guardians, Seattle Mariners, Miami Marlins, San Diego Padres, and Tampa Bay Rays. Former Major Leaguer Morgan Ensberg of the Tampa Bay Rays organization will skipper the Peoria Javelinas.
The Salt River Rafters, with Javier Colina of the Arizona Diamondbacks steering the boat, will be stocked with talent from the Atlanta Braves, Arizona Diamondbacks, Pittsburgh Pirates, Colorado Rockies, and Detroit Tigers.
The Scottsdale Scorpions, managed by Marty Malloy of the Philadelphia Phillies, will receive players from the Los Angeles Angels, St. Louis Cardinals, San Francisco Giants, Philadelphia Phillies, and Washington Nationals.
The Surprise Saguaros, managed by Carlos Cardoza of the Texas Rangers, will get players from the Rangers, Toronto Blue Jays, Milwaukee Brewers, Cincinnati Reds, and Kansas City Royals.
