Texas Pitcher Luke Harrison Delivers a Solid Outing for the USA Collegiate National Team

On Monday, June 29, Texas left-handed pitcher Luke Harrison delivered a great outing for the USA Collegiate National Team against the MLB Draft’s Appalachian League All-Star team.

After Mississippi State pitcher Tomas Valincius exited the game, Harrison replaced him in relief in the game’s third inning. In two innings, the Texas southpaw had a team-leading four strikeouts. He also allowed no runs and just one hit during his time on the mound.

In 2026, Harrison played a pivotal role on the Texas Longhorns’ pitching staff as Texas reached the College World Series for the first time since 2022.

In 83 1/3 innings of work, he had a 4.10 ERA and 100 strikeouts. He gained six wins on the mound in 16 starts and allowed an opposing batting average of .225.

Harrison had 11 strikeouts in his College World Series start at Charles Schwab Field against the Georgia Bulldogs on June 16. He reached 11 strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings and also allowed just one run. That was a season-high in strikeouts for the veteran left-hander from Friendswood, Texas.

The 2026 season was also Harrison’s fourth season in college baseball playing for the Longhorns. He has pitched 200 innings in his career in Austin with 214 strikeouts. Harrison has a career ERA of 3.83.

In 2026, the Texas Longhorns had a solid season in Jim Schlossnagle’s second year as the head coach. Texas finished 46-15 overall and was 19-10 in Southeastern Conference (SEC) play.

In their first two seasons in the SEC, Texas is 41-18 in conference games.

In the 2026 NCAA Tournament, the Longhorns won the Austin regional and super regional. Therefore, they advanced to the College World Series. Despite two losses to the Georgia Bulldogs, Texas picked up a 14-2 win over the Alabama Crimson Tide while playing in Omaha.
