Although baseball is not publicized by the media nearly as well in the Winter, many exciting leagues around the world are playing baseball right now. This list outlines the ten players who have had the best winter league seasons this year.

  1. Emilio Bonifacio (Tigres del Licey, LIDOM)

Emilio Bonifacio has been one of the most consistent hitters in LIDOM this season, and Bonifacio leads in at-bats with 189. The Dominican outfielder is a pure contact hitter, only hitting one home run the whole season. However, Bonifacio has shown he can get on base at an exceptionally high rate, batting .291 with a .369 on-base percentage. Although Bonifacio is 39 years old, he has proven that he can still be a formidable contact hitter for a baseball team at any level.

  1. Jasson Atondo (Naranjeros de Hermosillo, Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacifico)

Jasson Atondo had the best batting average in the entirety of the Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacifico. Atondo boasted an impressive batting average of .355 with 28 RBIs in the regular season. The one shortcoming of Atondo’s offensive game is he is unable to hit for power. In 217 at-bats, Atundo hit zero home runs and only 17 extra-base hits. However, Atondo was the most reliable lead-off hitter in the Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacifico and deserves recognition for that impressive accomplishment.

  1. Brennon McNair (Brisbane Bandits, Australian Baseball League)

The superstar shortstop, Brennon McNair, has had a terrific winter playing baseball in Australia. McNair plays for the worst team in the ABL, the Brisbane Bandits. However, McNair has done much more than just pull his weight. McNair leads the ABL in home runs and RBIs. Additionally, McNair has been able to hit for average, boasting an impressive .269 batting average and a .370 on-base percentage.

  1. Adrenaline Rodriguez (Aguilas Cibaeñas, LIDOM)

Adrenaline Rodriguez has been the best hitter in the LIDOM. Rodriguez has the third-best batting average out of all players who have had more than 100 at-bats. Additionally, Rodriguez led the Dominican Winter League in home runs, hitting eight long balls this season. The Aguilas Cibaeñas have a ton of firepower on their offense, and Rodriguez is the team’s most well-rounded hitter.

  1. Greg Bird (Melbourne Aces, Australian Baseball League)

The Melbourne Aces have done a terrific job hitting for power in the 2024-2025 ABL season. The Ace’s first baseman, Greg Bird, has been the impetus of the Aces high powered offense. Bird is second in the ABL in both home runs and RBIs. Additionally, Bird hits for average, batting .291 with an on-base percentage of .375.

  1. Robinson Cano (Tigres del Licey, LIDOM)

After being a perennial all-star in the MLB, Robinson Cano has continued to succeed in other leagues. Cano is the best player in LIDOM and has an impressive .353 batting average in nine regular-season games, including one home run and six RBIs. It is fantastic to see Cano continue to be successful on the baseball field, away from the MLB. The entire baseball world is rooting for him to continue dominating no matter what league he plays in.

  1. Anthony García (Indios De Mayagüez, LBPRC)

The Puerto Rican outfielder for the Indios De Mayagüez, Anthony García, has had a spectacular season playing in the LPBRC. García has a batting average of .311 for the Indios De Mayagüez, the best on his team for players who are consistently in the lineup. Additionally, García gets on base extremely well; the 33-year-old outfielder has an on-base percentage of .434. García is not just a contact hitter; the right-handed hitter has shown the ability to hit the long ball and drive runs in, accumulating five home runs and 20 RBIs.

  1. Joey Meneses (Tomateros de Culiacán, Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacifico)

Joey Meneses has been the most well-rounded hit in the Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacifico. Meneses was third in the league in home runs and first in the league in RBIs. While hitting for power, Meneses hit for average, too, batting .320 with an on-base percentage of .385. Overall, Meneses was the most dominant player in the league at the plate and the catalyst of the Tomateros offense.

  1. Robert Stock (Naranjeros de Hermosillo, Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacifico)

The best pitcher in the Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacifico is far and away Robert Stock of the Naranjeros de Hermosillo. The right-handed pitcher from the United States had the most wins in the Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacifico, boasting an impressive record of ten and two. Additionally, Stock had the best ERA in the league with a 1.60. Stock is a strikeout pitcher, accumulating a league-high 78 strikeouts. Stock is the Naranjeros de Hermosillo ace pitcher and the most reliable option on the mound in the whole league.

  1. Alex Wells (Sydney Blue Sox, Australian Baseball League)

The Sydney Blue Sox ace pitcher Alex Wells has had a terrific 2024-2025 campaign. Wells boasts an impressive 1.17 ERA and 1.17 WHIP. Wells has a five-and-one record and has been the most consistent pitcher in the ABL. The Sydney Blue Sox currently sit in first place in the ABL standings, and a lot of their success can be attributed to their star pitcher, Alex Wells. Wells is not only the best player in the ABL but also the best player to play in a winter league in 2025.
