Baseball’s outcast gave fans a Sunday afternoon to remember.
In the first game of a doubleheader against the Lancaster Stormers, Trevor Bauer threw a seven-inning no-hitter, striking out seven and walking one in his second start for the Atlantic League’s Long Island Ducks. He threw 84 pitches, 56 of them for strikes, against 22 batters as the Ducks won the game 13-0.

Bauer issued one walk to Stormers catcher Kevin Wilson and struck out Lancaster’s Joseph Carpenter and Tyler Robertson twice each.
Shortly after the game ended, Bauer took to social network X to mock his detractors, posting, “Trevor Bauer sucks so much. He’s so washed.”

Bauer, 35, stated that he is being blackballed from Major League Baseball following his first start for the Ducks, where he threw four innings and allowed two runs. He pitched two of the last three seasons with the Yokohama DeNA BayStars in Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball and a year with the Liga Mexicana de Beisbol’s Diablos Rojos del Mexico, winning that league’s pitcher of the year award after leading the Diablos to their first of two consecutive league titles.
Before playing abroad, he won the 2020 National League Cy Young Award while pitching for the Cincinnati Reds. He was later the recipient of the longest suspension issued under MLB’s domestic violence policy, having been slapped with a 324-game ban in 2021 that was later reduced to 192 games after multiple women accused him of violence during sexual encounters. When the suspension ended, Bauer, who was then under contract to the Los Angeles Dodgers, was designated for assignment and then released six days later.
While Bauer has never been arrested, charged, or convicted of a crime related to the allegations, and one of his accusers has been charged with defrauding the former Major Leaguer, Bauer has not returned to MLB.
With the no-hitter, Bauer’s ERA is at 1.64, and he’s recorded 15 strikeouts in 11 innings of work.
