Tanner Mally is college baseball’s hitting leader at this point in the season. The junior is putting up crazy numbers for the Western Michigan Broncos in Kalamazoo.
In 2026, Mally has a .483 batting average. He has strung together 69 total hits and has 17 RBIs. Mally also has an on-base percentage of .596.
He leads college baseball in batting average and on-base percentage, and is also top ten in the country in hits.
Mally and his impressive month of April
The Western Michigan junior has a hit in every game he has appeared in, dating back to April 7 against Valparaiso. Out of those 11 games, six of them have been multi-hit performances.
Mally had a streak of four multi-hit games from April 18 through April 24 in games against Eastern Michigan, Valparaiso, and Kent State.
In his most recent performance against Kent State on April 26, he had three hits and scored a run.
Coming off a great 2025 season with Western Michigan
Mally’s 2026 season has placed him at the top of the college baseball landscape. However, he had a great 2025 season as well with the Broncos.
In 2025, Mally had a .356 batting average in 205 total at-bats. He also had 11 doubles, three triples, and 20 RBIs. His on-base percentage that season was .444.
Mally was nominated to the All-MAC Defensive team as well in 2025. He had 136 putouts.
