The Toronto Blue Jays selected Will Brick in the fourth round of the 2026 MLB Draft with the 131st overall pick. On Sunday, July 19, he signed a massive overslot deal with the team.
According to MLB Pipeline reporter Jim Callis, Brick is signing with the Blue Jays for $2.5 million. The pick value for 131st overall was $581,100. Therefore, Brick’s deal is around $1.92 million above the slot value.
The signing tied the record for the highest bonus for a position player drafted after the third round. Brick’s signing tied Coy James’ signing with the Washington Nationals in 2025.
James was selected in the 5th round with the 142nd overall pick in the 2025 MLB Draft by the Nationals. Much like Brick, he was drafted out of high school and also signed for $2.5 million.

Brick was the number one high school prospect from the state of Tennessee, according to Perfect Game. He played for Christian Brothers High School in Memphis and committed to play college baseball for Mississippi State.
Along with being the number one player in Tennessee, Brick was also a top-ten player nationally in the 2026 high school class.
MLB Pipeline had Brick as a top-50 2026 MLB Draft prospect (46th overall). This had him projected to be a second-rounder instead of dropping to the fourth round.
It is important to note that Brick was reclassified to the 2026 class. In his senior season of high school baseball, he finished with a .526 batting average, a .651 on-base percentage, five home runs, and 25 RBIs. He was the 2026 Gatorade Tennessee Baseball Player of the Year.
