With a 1-0 win over the Gigantes de Carolina combined with a 9-2 Indios de Mayaguez win over the Leones de Ponce, the Cangrejeros de Santurce captured first place in the Liga Beisbol Profesional Roberto Clemente on Friday night.

Gabriel Arias grounded out to first in the bottom of the third, allowing Jack Lopez to score the game’s only run for Santurce.

Cangrejeros starter Adalberto Flores allowed three hits in five innings of work, striking out four and walking one, and five pitchers out of the Santurce bullpen allowed one hit and three walks to secure the narrow win.

The LBPRC playoffs will start on January 2. All LBPRC games are streamed live on the league’s facebook page.

Aguilas del Zulia Win Game One of LVBP Wild Card Series – A four-run fourth inning powered the Aguilas del Zulia to a 7-2 victory over the Tigres de Aragua in the first game of the LVBP Wild Card Series.

Rougned Odor had three hits and drove in three runs and hit a solo homer for Zulia in the top of the sixth. Odor, an MLB free agent, spent last season with the San Diego Padres.

Yonthan Mendoza’s two-run single in the bottom of the second drove in both of Aragua’s runs.

Zulia emptied the bullpen, sending seven pitchers to the mound who combined to allow nine hits and two runs.

The Tigres and Aguilas will face each other in game two of the LVBP Wild Card Series today at 4 p.m. EST, and all LVBP games are streamed live on Beisbolplay.com with a paid subscription.

LIDOM: Tigres del Licey 2, Estrellas Orientales 0 – Veteran starter Cesar Valdez went five innings, allowing four hits and no runs and striking out two, as the Tigres del Licey improved to 2-1 in the LIDOM Round Robin with a 2-0 shutout of the Estrellas Orientales.

Dawel Lugo’s second inning single drove in Aristides Aquino for the game-winning run.

LIDOM: Gigantes del Cibao 4, Leones del Escogido 3 – Jose Siri’s eighth-inning solo homer gave the Gigantes del Cibao a 4-3 lead that held up, as they notched their first win of the LIDOM Round Robin.

Henry Urrutia had two hits, including a double, for the Gigantes, who are 1-2 in the Round Robin. Starter Bryan Bonnell threw five innings of shutout ball, allowing two hits, one walk, and striking out one for Cibao.

The Gigantes del Cibao (1-2) face the Tigres del Licey at 3 p.m. EST Saturday, and the Estrellas Orientales play the Leones del Escogido at 5:30 p.m. EST. All LIDOM games are streamed on MLB.tv with a subscription.

A Lot of Possibilities in the LAMP – The final regular season games in the Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacifico will be played Saturday night, and the results will shake up the first round playoff matchups.

Playoff positioning in the LAMP is based upon points awarded for each team’s finish in the first and second halves of the season, with a half-season winner awarded 10 points, and the second, third, and fourth place teams awarded nine, eight, seven, and six points respectively. Teams further down the standings are awarded half a point less the further below first place they finish, with the 10th place team being awarded 3.5 points.

The Algodoneros de Guasave, who won the first half of the season, could lock up the top spot in the playoffs with a win over the Caneros de Los Mochis on Saturday night at 8 p.m. EST.

The Charros de Jalisco, who finished ninth in the first half, can win the second half and earn 10 points with a win over the Yaquis de Obregon at 7 p.m. EST Saturday. An Obregon win could get the Yaquis in the playoffs if multiple dominoes fall their way.

The Naranjeros de Hermosillo can finish in a tie for first if they beat the Aguilas de Mexicali at 9 p.m. EST Saturday and Jalisco loses.

Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacifico games can be streamed via Extrabase.tv for a fee.
