Alex

I am thankful that baseball never sleeps, and we get to cover this sport all year round! I’m also thankful for the New York Mets incredible postseason run in 2024.

David

  1. To see players from all over the globe put on big performances in the World Series
  2. That baseball doesn’t sleep and has expanded internationally to the point where you can watch it almost any time during the year
  3. There is no runner on second base in extra innings in the MLB Playoffs

Aaliyan

  1. I am thankful that baseball is continuing to grow all over the world.
  2. Thankful that I got to exist at the same time as Shohei Ohtani and get to see him do things we’ve never seen before
  3. Thankful that Jackson Chourio is a Brewer

Joe

I’m thankful for the incredible influence that baseball and sports have on our population. It’s rare that we are all united in our support of one thing in the world today, and I’m grateful that sports can be that outlet. I’m also thankful for the various outlets worldwide that allow baseball to have the incredible impact it does.

Conor

Two things I’m thankful for about baseball this year:

  1. Going to Yankee games with my Dad. Even though it rained both times he went this year!
  2. I’m learning more about baseball outside the United States and hearing that former MLB players whose names I haven’t heard in years are still playing professionally in Mexico, Japan, Taiwan, etc.

Leif

I’m thankful for baseball being a thread that binds us: across generations, continents, nations, states, and counties, from father to son and grandfather to grandson, from mothers to their children. Baseball was introduced to me, if I had to guess, by my father playing a recording of Russ Hodges’ call of Bobby Thomson’s “Shot heard ’round the world” off a vinyl record, and I’ve played that same call for my son by pressing a button on a computer. The game has taken me to countless fields, parks, and stadiums, and every time, I think back to my first game, on June 9, 1985, my dad’s 44th birthday, at Veterans Stadium, when I saw the Phillies play the Expos from the 700 level, and the day last August I brought my son to see his first game, between the Royals and the Cubs at Wrigley Field. This summer, we’ll all catch a game together, and that thread will thicken to a string, binding us across three generations.

Alfred

I am thankful for the game of baseball and how it can bring people together with the romantics that come with it.
