2023-24 Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacifico Regular Season Players To Watch – December 18 Round Up

The Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacifico regular will have their last set of games in the 2023-24 regular season on December 30 prior to the start of their playoffs in the beginning of January. 

Eight teams will make the league’s playoffs for the 2023-24 season. 

World Baseball Network has selected certain players to watch from the 2023-24 LAMP season during the middle of December. 

Aguilas de Mexicali outfielder Norberto Obeso is leading the league in average hitting at .341 in 34 games this season with 126 at-bats recording 43 hits, eight doubles, nine RBI, 24 walks, 18 strikeouts and a .852 OPS. 

Mayos de Navojoa outfielder Max Murphy leads the 2023-24 LAMP season in home runs with 12.  Murphy is batting .282 with 48 games in 174 at-bats smacking 49 hits, 14 doubles, one triple, 35 RBI, 18 walks, 63 strikeouts, and a .961 OPS. 

Aguilas de Mexicali designated hitter Kennys Vargas is leading LAMP in RBIs with 49. Vargas has played in 56 games with 202 at-bats recording 62 hits, 14 doubles, nine home runs, 27 walks, 47 strikeouts, and a .911 OPS.

Current Washington Nationals designated hitter Joey Meneses was activated to play in the 2023-24 LAMP regular season with Tomateros de Culiacan on December 16. Meneses is playing in his eleventh consecutive winter league season with the Tomateros organization. In two games, Meneses has eight plate appearances batting .375 recording three hits and striking out once. 

Aguilas de Mexicali starting pitcher David Reyes leads the league in wins with eight and his ERA at 1.85 during the 2023-24 regular season. Reyes has an 8-2 record throwing 68 innings in 12 starts allowing 64 hits, 14 earned runs, three home runs, 15 walks, 45 strikeouts, and a 1.16 WHIP. 

Tomateros de Culiacán starting pitcher Manny Barreda is leading LAMP with a 0.97 WHIP.  Barreda has thrown 60 innings in nine starts and 10 appearances posting a 4-3 record with a 2.25 ERA allowing 42 hits, 15 earned runs, two home runs, 16 walks, and 46 strikeouts. 

Algodoneros de Guasave closer Peyton Gray leads the league with 17 saves this season. Gray has thrown 25 innings in 26 games going 0-1 with not giving up an earned run allowing 10 hits, 10 walks, and striking out 38 batters including a 0.80 WHIP. 

Aguilas de Mexicali catcher Xorge Carrilo achieved a historic mark on December 14 suiting up for 571 games, which is the most games a catcher has caught in franchise history when he accomplished that feat last Thursday in their 9-3 loss against Charros de Jalisco. 

The 2023-24 LAMP regular season will resume on December 19. Mayos de Navojoa will travel to Hermosillo to take on Naranjeros de Hermosillo at Estadio Fernando Valenzuela at 7 p.m. EST and 10 p.m. EST for their doubleheader. Sultanes de Monterrey will host a doubleheader against Caneros de Los Mochis at Estadio Mobil Super at 7 p.m. EST and 10 p.m. EST. Algodoneros de Guasave will play at home at Kuroda Park against Venados de Mazatlan at 8:30 p.m. EST. Tomateros de Culiacán will host Charros de Jalisco at 9:05 p.m. EST at Estadio Tomateros. Yaquis de Obregón will play at home against Aguilas de Mexicali at 9:10 p.m. EST at Estadio Yaquis. 

All LAMP 2023-24 regular season games and playoffs will be streamed on https://www.extrabase.tv/home until the final out of the league’s best-of-seven championship series in late January prior to the start of the 2024 Caribbean in Miami at loanDepot Park from February 1-9.
